Paper Source — Local services in New York

I’ve recently started shopping here because I started using a planner. I love their stickers, washi tape, and pen selections. I literally came two days straight (the ladies there were great!) but on my third non consecutive day I did not feel welcomed at all! I was shopping with my daughter but I WAS FOLLOWED THROUGH OUT THE STORE! seriously!?! She never once asked me if I needed help but every where my daughter and I walked as we were literally shopping she was there acting like she was fixing the perfectly fix displays! A family (white) with her children came in and never once did she follow them around. She greeted them yet I had to be the one to say HELLO! The other employee asked the family if they needed help but left them in peace to shop also making sure if they needed anything to let them know. I never got that! I finally (on purpose) walked to another area to see if maybe it was just me but NOPE little miss dumb followed me over there to touching an item and re-adjusting it’s perfect position! At the register she asked for my email but didn’t put it in correctly. I had to tell her I have an account and to look it up. She barely wanted to touch my hand when giving me change. She even once acted like she wanted to give me small talk but you can see the other woman employee just staring me down. I played nice because I was with my daughter and tried to sleep on it but do you see the time I’m posting this? It’s upsetting to know that because of my color I have to be the one to steal. I worked retail for a long time..FYI...all different kind of people steal no matter the color! If you feel like you might have to deal with thief please follow everyone. FYI: I ended up not taking everything because I felt why spend my money. I got what I promised my daughter and that’s it. Why spend more?!? I told her to take off the extras so she can put it back since she love to pretend to fix up. WHAT A SHAME...

If I could I would give this store a billion stars. Customer service is just beyond stellar.

Lapin and I came here on a Saturday night to explore the cards. One thing lead to another and we (mostly, me) became interested in their workshops. I asked a couple of questions (more like a hundred) and they patiently answered every single one of them while performing tutorials on each of the 70 thousand products I asked about. I ended up keeping them there passed their closing time but not once did they look at their watches or told us to leave. Simply the best customer service ever. I have never in my life felt so belittled in a store like this. I have been shopping at the paper source for many years now and decided to stop at this location. Not only was I followed around the store by an older female employee (I believe her name was April), I caught her telling other employees to keep and eye out for “my kind of people.” I am appalled by this behavior and I can only hope that they learn to hire employees that do not RACIALLY PROFILE their customers.
