Pure Barre — Local services in New York

This is my favorite location, I’m almost reluctant to post because I’m scared it’ll get overly crowded like some of the other studios.

The sunlight streaming into the studio is a really nice touch, as most of the studios are dark and feel cavern like. In this day and age of craving space, this seems to be the most spacious of the bunch (Central Park is a close runner up).

The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, frequently answering my many questions. I appreciate that the instructors take time before and after class to answer anything. I definitely recommend saying yes to hands on form corrections, it’s amazing how a small adjustment makes a huge difference.

The best part about this studio is that it has showers and blow dryers. I feel so much better going to work after a nice shower than when I use the body wipes and wash my face in the sink. My only wish is that this studio had a few more morning class options, or kept the showers open after the morning classes for the much smaller studio around the corner. I was really excited to sign up for the free week advertised on the website and then planned to become a monthly member. I was so excited I arranged morning childcare so I could get to the 7:30 Empower class and start my free week. I am beyond disappointed by experience. I asked to sign up for the free week. The girls working told me they don’t offer that anymore. I told them it specifically says they offer a free week on their website and showed them the site. They looked at it, acknowledged it, but said they don’t offer that and basically told me to leave. When I asked if I could pay for class the girl demeaningly told me it’s a cardio class so I don’t want to start with that class. I informed her I was aware, I’ve taken this class at other studios. My gf goes here and loves it! I personally have never gone here, but this review is on her behalf :) she just reached the 250 club, 250 classes and was so super excited I decided to show up on her big day. She got socks.
