Be advised this is not a little 1-hour side activity, this is a whole day event. We went on a Monday afternoon and was told there was a 2-3 hour wait to get a time slot to build our jewelry. Okay, fine, they went viral recently so it’s understandable that they’re busy. Finally, we get our time slot and we go in, create our jewelry and check out. We’re told to come back in ANOTHER 2 and a half hours to pick up the jewelry. I’m sorry, what? That’s kind of an important piece of information to mention, maybe even at the start of the interaction where you put people on a waitlist, because the average person doesn’t have 5-6 hours to spend for a costume jewelry-grade bracelet to be made. But I imagine they know this and know that most people would say nevermind, don’t put me on the wait list, and they’re looking to maximize profits by omitting that information from the start. We were also misinformed by the woman at the register who told us we would be called when our jewelry was ready for pickup. So we wait the two hours and call ourselves, only to be picked up by someone with an attitude saying, oh no we don’t call you when it’s ready, you just have to come get it,(not even apologizing for us being misinformed by one of their workers) and um yeah, we’re about to get out of here real soon so like, if you could get here like right away that would be good. Didn’t like the customer service from this place, it is a great idea and great business model but it just seems like it needs some structuring so it’s not all over the place. Also being notified of the pick up wait time in advance is a common sense / common courtesy thing...
Read moreI have to be honest — I tried 3 different times to go to Brooklyn Charm - the first time, the Greenpoint location was closed (no indication online, still “hours of operation” on google maps): just a piece of paper w / “closed” handwritten on it. So then I chased them by going to Chelsea market — the employee I interacted with at Chelsea market seemed overwhelmed and misinformed. They could not give me a straight answer for what I was looking for - which was beads / charms to make bracelets with girlfriends (a fun rainy day activity for our upcoming girls trip). The employee at Chelsea market told me to try the Greenpoint location, that they would probably have what I was looking for. Finally today, I called first to ensure they were opened, biked over to the shop after work, only to have an employee bark at me the second I walked inside telling me they were not taking any more custom orders. I calmly explained I was looking for beads to make my own bracelets, and they quickly shut me down telling me they did not have anything like that. The snarky attitude was unwarranted - I feel like every interaction I had with someone from this store was like they were annoyed with me for trying to be a customer. Poor customer service, not friendly, really was disappointed because their items do look cute - but I don’t want to give my business somewhere that makes me feel I am a bother for simply entering...
Read moreGreenPoint location EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I was excited to visit Brooklyn Charm. My friend traveled from NC and we wanted to make necklace’s together. Got to the location around 4:15pm and the manager in an extremely rude fashion informed us that we couldn’t come in because they were busy and needed to clean. Mind you the hours of operation stated they closed at 6pm. After reasoning with her she let us in and told me to “hurry up.” It was evident that she didn’t want our business. She was very cold and unfriendly. She didn’t answer any questions, nor did she walk us through the process. When my friend did ask a question about a charm she stated that they tarnished quickly and we just needed to pick something. I couldn’t believe how she treated us. We were so excited to build our necklaces and looked forward to visiting the shop. Bc we were extremely uncomfortable we decided to leave. As we were leaving she said nothing to us and locked the door as we exited. I get that running a business can be overwhelming especially when you have a large influx of customers, but it’s always important to maintain good customer service. She was not kind…and based on her lack of customer service I will...
