We had the BEST instructor we could have asked for when it came to putting together (and eventually mastering) our first dance! As Queens locals, we were thrilled to hear that Queens Ballroom Dance was a short drive to us and offered the kind of dance prep we were looking for ahead of our big day. We went in expecting to just learn a few moves so we'd be comfortable on the dance floor but our instructor choreographed a simple but extremely elegant dance for us to our chosen song of "Beyond" by Leon Bridges over the course of five lessons. We are beginner dancers but our instructor's teaching style was so easy to follow and encouraging -- she made us feel like we were pros! She made sure that we were comfortable with every dance move along the way and always gave us such helpful feedback that made us feel confident with what we were learning. After each 45 minute session, we couldn't wait to practice our moves and learn what was next -- we were so excited to go back for more. Following our fifth session, we couldn't believe it was coming to an end but we left feeling like we could take on the world -- or at least our wedding venue's dance floor :) Everything our instructor envisioned and helped us execute came together so beautifully on our wedding night -- and all of our guests were blown away by our first dance! We were smiling ear to ear the entire dance and had the best time of our lives showcasing our amazing routine as newlyweds. Expertly managed by several owners, including Yuriy Nartov, one of my favorite ballroom dance instructors and an impressive professional standard dancer himself. Well-maintained dance studio, with 3 separate spaces: 1 main floor on the ground level, 1 upstairs floor that is still bigger than many Manhattan-based studios, and a smaller floor downstairs. All studios equipped with a new laminate floor nearly indistinguishable from hard-wood, and suitable for dancing!

Regular advertisements posted to Facebook page and quick response times, so you can be sure the studio is always open when you are planning to come. Since this studio has multiple rooms, it does not shut-down when classes are happening, so you always have an option to practice or take lessons! Several group class offerings for different levels to suit your individual experience. Well-run rounds standard rounds are also offered weekly in addition to occasional lessons and workshops from visiting instructors. This is not the closest studio to where I live, but I regularly come to QBD for the atmosphere, the access to high quality instruction, and the unparalleled amount of space on the dance floor in the NYC area. A spacious studio with a nice, springy wooden floor. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Group and private classes run professionally and smoothly all week long. All the social events are organized and run frequently in the afternoons and weekends. Instructors are skilled at the top of their craft and their students (young and old) seem to be very well trained and satisfied, regardless of their level or whether they are in group or private classes. My husband and I (senior amateur competitors) are new to the area and were looking for a place to practice regularly. One of the owners, Yuriy, was very quick to respond to our inquiry and helped us to find our happy place.
