REE Nail & Spa disappointed me. For context, I had been coming here since I moved to the neighborhood in 2019. At the beginning of this year, I was beginning to notice a sharp decline in the quality of service. I will post pictures of the last time I came as well as today, which was the final straw for me. Two stars because the mani/pedi looks decent from afar, but abysmal customer service and quality for the higher price point. That being said, they manage to remain incredibly popular, so I'm thinking they do a better job the more money you pay. I just get a regular mani/pedi, so maybe their expertise and time would rather be spent on an acrylic or something else. The mani/pedi combo here is $54, and that's if you pay cash (it's more expensive when you pay card). The last time I went to REE, I was taken to do my manicure upstairs where the woman completely rushed through it (reading other reviews, this is a trend). The lighter purple is the manicure and you can see in the pictures that they left the lotion gunk under my nails and the manicure looks visibly terrible. It also managed to smudge when I got home (10 minute walk), so I complained and went back that same day to get them redone. I didn't post a review because they did redo it, and that was not great, but better. Today, I made an appointment at 5pm. Helen was the person who worked on my nails. I didn't feel rushed until the end of my service, when there was someone else waiting (who was again, getting a more expensive service). Helen was a bit rough when pushing back my cuticles, so there were a couple times where my foot jerked a bit from pain. For the manicure, the issue arose at the end when Helen was trying to be done with me. As you can see from the pictures, the edge work on the polish is pretty sloppy. I asked her to clean up the most egregious one, and she preceded to do so using, not a q-tip or brush, but HER NAIL. She dipped her nail into the acetone and scraped at the side. As you can see from the picture, she actually cut my skin, which I didn't notice until I was home and wondering why that finger was stinging. She also knocked my nail with her hand and I had to ask her twice to redo it. They usually provide like a minute massage after the service, but I had no massage. No one offered to help me remove the paper between my toes or to help me in general so I didn't have to use my nails when it was time to leave. No thank you or anything upon exiting the establishment. I don't plan to return here, and wanted to put out a warning that if you're looking to do something basic, go elsewhere.

I came here off of a TikTok video. I asked for gel pedicure and gel X manicure. I also stated to the technician Suki, that I have acrylic on both of my big toes that I would like removed, she insisted and said yes that she would do it. Now SUKI does a very good pedicure. She will rub you down and her reflexology skills are very good. She makes sure everything looks neat etc . My review is because I insisted on having the acrylic soaked off my toe! It adds a little stability , my nail breaks easily . She proceeded to file my toenail to the point where the acrylic is filed flat to my nail bed. I asked again if she would remove the acrylic and she stated that line I pointed to was the power (which didn’t come off once wiped smh) . It was the acrylic , I know what was on my toe . She then in her language told the lady next to her that I had toe fungus. ( & I know this because the words toe fungus were clear as day in English) ! She was rough with my feet because she had to space my toes while painting. I mean nail salons have had toe spacers since before time , she should’ve used that the first time she noticed my toes wouldn’t stay the way she wanted them to. She was also rough with my shoulder massage she could’ve just kept that, but no one else was in the salon to see how rough she was. I was literally wincing in my chair, and I almost had to tell her to stop touching me. Back to the slick fungus remark, I’m a nurse I know what a fungus is , which I do not have . Because had she had soaked the acrylic off properly she would have noticed my nail bed was plenty healthy and felt stupid . Even if I did have fungus Miss SUKI why are you being disrespectful discussing anything regarding a customers body with the next worker in your language? You’re in America you’re Going to respect Americans, especially when respect is given to you. We pay you to do a service. I paid $177 on a basic mani and pedi and I still tipped her $20 . They’re basic pedi is $60 and gel x mani is $85. So how did we get $177 and you didn’t remove the acrylic nor reapply new acrylic , just a gel pedicure and gel x mani (gel x is less work for the technician than acrylic tips ) ???? I will continue to take my money to the “hood” , “ghetto” or however y’all like to describe our neighborhoods & get quality work for less than $100. So now a week later I will be booking an appointment in the not so uppity neighborhood for them to correct the problem.

Very relaxing nail salon and spa. I always feel good about their services. However, I noticed that my gel manicure was not painted all the way to the cuticle. This is what my nail job looks like only 2-3 days after I got them done. Why? I guess I have been very stressed and very exhausted with my job that I didn’t have time to micro-manage them — which honestly should not be MY responsibility. I need THEM to do better. I paid about $140 for a gel manicure and spa pedicure (w/ 10 min foot massage). My stuff needs to be on point. In this economy?! Please. Do not play any games. I feel like I wasted my money. And they never seem to say thank you after getting a tip. Disrespectful.

I've been serviced at Ree Nail & Spa (Upper East Side) about 5 times but today was by far the worst service I've ever received. They made me very uncomfortable and uneasy today. Everyone that knows me know I will spend whatever on a good self care day. Its why I work hard to make myself feel good.I went today for a Honey and Milk Spa pedicure ($90) With gel Extra ($25) Plus I had to soak off a previous acrylic set from another salon ($15). From the time I sat in the pedicure chair No one offered me a beverage but soon as another lady came in she was offered a beverage. No biggie I brought my own snacks and Ipad to keep me occupied. However Once I told the tech which Service I wanted She hesitated, then said it would be more money for gel which is fine. When I told her I needed to soak off. She then said it would be another charge. Again I said that's fine no worries. I informed her I've been there before, and knew the charges. I was getting a bit Frustrated because I come here to relax evidently, if I'm asking for add-on services, I know there's going to be a charge which is never a problem for me. My pedicure was rushed, cuticles were'nt cut and the techs overall energy was she wanted to get it over with. FYI I have beautiful feet I get compliments all the time. I know their job is tough but this wasn't the case at all. Okay she's done, Noe it's time to Pay. With taxes and all it come out to $135.45.. I handed her my card to pay before she gives me my Receipt she points at the tip suggestion, as if I was supposed to follow that. Businesses are tipped on their service whether the customer is satisfied or not a tip isn't mandatory. I was very taken back by that. I didn't have a good visit now you're shoving a tip down my throat. Not once did she ask how was my service because she didn't care. I'm not a confrontational person, so I just paid and left but my feelings were hurt and I nor my friends will be returning back. RUSHED, RUDE &...
