Saint George Greenmarket — Local services in New York

I've been to many different greenmarkets all across the city, and this one is a little different than most. A lot of the other greenmarkets have farms visiting from NJ, LI, and upstate, but this is the first one I've seen that actually has true local farms from the 5 boros. Nearly all the vendors here are Staten based, so you're truly giving back to your own local community shopping here. There's usually about 6-8 vendors here so it's a tad small compared to other greenmarkets, but there's still a fine selection available. There's usually 3-4 produce sellers, one bakery, and one or two fresh meat/dairy vendors, so it's a little bit of everything you'd want. Vendors and greenmarket staff are all friendly and knowledgeable as well. I'd love to see more vendors, as well as other types of vendors like art/jewelry/clothes/bath and beauty product vendors here like some of the larger markets. Great Greenmarket— Everyone is very local and you can even get compost. Rabit Run Farm is the best and I’ve been buying from them for close to two decades. If you use an EBT card here and you get $10 match in vegetable/Fruit certificates. These are really great when edible plants...

Sad vendors. Maybe just to early to shop. Need more high quality vendors with reasonable prices. Also need to remove the empanada lady OUTSIDE THE PARKING LOT. Needs to be checked for vendors license, and to stop serving out of a shopping cart..NO GLOVES WHEN HANDLING...
