Terrible service. I was prepared to spend quite a bit of money in here, had great experiences there in the past. The man running the store was so incredibly rude and kicked me out saying I was there too long and he wanted other people to come in and look around. I handed him what I had picked out and said I would take a walk to let others in and when I came back, he had taken half of my items out of the container I handed him. He not only denied taking them back, but insisted they “just disappeared” then continued to become aggressive with me, insisting I was wrong. I decided it was not worth the trouble and went to leave, and he started raising his voice at me, yelling that I had wasted his time, etc. I told him I came with the intention of connecting with a few items and was planning to spend a lot of money but was made to feel unwelcome and that I hoped he would have a better day and that he would find some better energy to guide him. THIS PLACE IS A FRAUD IF YOURE LOOKING FOR TRULY SPIRITUALLY CHARGED ENERGIES. ALL FOR THE MONEY AND FOOT TRAFFIC, NOT FOR HELPING OTHERS...
Read moreI originally came here at night and found out it was closed =( so my friend and I came back the next day and decided to give this place a try as I found it to be one of the only crystal shops near where we stayed. I would like to make it a point to collect crystals from every trip I go on =)
Upon entering, we were both greeted by a lovely Latino gentleman who provided some aide to my friend who has probably never been in a spiritual shop before. He helped us locate some rare gems, gave a brief overview of how to cleanse the crystals they chose, and was so nice to even give us a free palo santo for free! I tried to give him money to tip him for his courteous service, however, he refused. A kind man, with a good heart and you definitely can see why many people say beautiful things about this store and the environment.
In the end, I ended up with a rose quartz bracelet from Tibet, pyrite and...
Read moreScent Elate is truly one of the most special places in New York City. The shop itself is cozy, full of energy, and has such a welcoming vibe — but what makes it unforgettable is the owner, Mo.
I’ve only visited twice (the last time back in December 2018), yet Mo has kept in touch with us ever since. He’s gone above and beyond, even taking orders over the phone and mailing them across the country. Just recently, I reached out and the very next day he called to talk through what was going on in our lives and what we needed. Less than a week later, a package arrived!!
It’s rare to meet someone who instantly feels like more than a business owner — Mo has become a guide and a friend. His kindness, generosity, and connection to people is truly one of a kind. If you’re in Manhattan, you have to visit Scent Elate. It’s so much more than just a store — it’s...
