I booked a reservation weeks in advance. I had a Friendsgiving brunch with my friends at another restaurant and booked Sir Henry’s as a second location. We were seeking an inviting cozy setting to sip on cocktails, have dessert, some appetizers, and spend the evening catching up. Upon arrival we were taken to the upper level back bar area. The upper level bar was very small and our table was right up against the bar. When we sat we felt a cold breeze and realized our table was set directly under the air vent. The air was on quite high and the vent was coated in dust. We asked if the air could be turned down. We were told “we will ask the manager what can be done” but nothing changed. I sat with my coat on the entire time and picked up the sniffles from the cold and the dust. There was a crowd at the bar standing by the barstools behind us. It was apparent by their visible drunkenness that they had been drinking for some time. They were singing along to the music and carrying on. I’m all for a good night out, but the group was obnoxious. Either sit at your barstools or stand in the open area so that you are not constantly bumping our backs as we try to sip our cocktails and enjoy our own night. The bar is too crowded and gets too loud. The owners may want to consider removing the 3 tables in this area and line it with stools leaving the center area for standing. The area is too uncomfortable, too crowded, and too loud for table seating. I was disappointed that THIS was the best they could do in terms of seating especially with reservations made well in advance. We ordered some white chocolate martinis and margaritas along with dessert. The white chocolate martinis were not what we were hoping for. They were a bit on the bitter side. The tequila with pineapple juice I ordered, which I’ve ordered at many other restaurants was also too bitter. So bitter I took just a few sips and left the drink. I NEVER leave a drink! My cheesecake, though drenched in sauce, tasted very much like something you’d pick up at a grocery store. We ordered chips and guacamole which lacked flavor. The only saving grace were the wait staff. The staff were attentive and courteous, hence the 2 stars. We made the most of the situation and focused on the company we were in rather than the setting. I’m certain the downstairs seating would have been a much better experience. The ambiance downstairs is so much better and nicely decorated. But unfortunately, poor seating choice ruined our experience. Will definitely...

Will never do that again, my friends and I arrived to this venue and of course as expected we were asked for our tickets and photo ID. All 3 of us presented our photo ID to the bouncer at the door 2 of us he looked and had no issue, our one friend he stared her up and down and then proceeded to ask her for a passport and accuse her of having an fake ID. She asked him what is wrong with the ID as she is of age and she lives in NYC and doesn’t have a passport on her to attend a Halloween event. He said due to her “complexion” she looks washed out on the photo in ID and it’s giving fake. We tried to explain to him we literally just came from a bar and he is incorrect this is a valid government issued ID. We asked to speak to a manager and he refused us one. He said he is the manger of this establishment and we can go back to where we came from with the photo ID. He then insisted to be disrespectful and tell me that I am an uneducated black woman. I got furious and said would you like an officer to come and verify her Id, we paid money to get into this event and you don’t even have proper scanners that can verify that this is a valid Id. He said he didn’t need or have scanners he can see with his eyes that it is fake. We called police and they arrived to validate all ID and told them none of the ID were fake. The owner came to address us and introduce himself and said that we could’ve offered credit/debit with name to verify Id and we explained to him that this man didn’t give my friend any other option but to present a passport or lose money she paid for to get into this venue. He then apologized and we were allowed in. This was not a great experience for people trying to enjoy Halloween and a night out. I will not be coming back to this place and I recommend that they get scanners to check ID and age instead of having someone at the door who will just use their “eye sight” and pass judgement on a Id that is actually real and registered by New York State. That man should be reprimanded for his disrespectful attitude towards paying customers who are bringing in business to this...
Read moreThis was such an amazing spot to find so close to times square. Come for the esthetic, stay for the amazing food and drinks as well as top branch service. I cannot give enough praise to Jeremiah who was our bartender upstairs ( FYI..this place has three bars inside, and each serves its own purpose. You can be in the heart of things at the main bar downstaira, but if you head upstairs, it's a little more calm and relaxed, which we loved) Back to Jeremiah, Jeremiah is like a mixologost/ bartender/ artisan/ entertainer. He puts so much art and dedication into crafting drinks, gives you information and he is up to the challenge for making you something based on inspiration/ mood He was a whole vibe for everyone at the bar and watching him create drinks was an experience thar motivated us to sign up for cocktail making class. If you're gonna try a drink go for the Gentleman and the Scholar; but while they still have it please please try the Cozy Cardigan. This drink is a coconut/ pineapple/ passion fruit rum cocktail topped with cinnamon. I cannot say enough things. It's like a horchata meets a pina colada it's so good!!! I know this drink was created by.I believe his name was Aaron.. please believe.I will be calling to get that recipe even if I have to pay for it! Thank you guys for a good time. We'll definitely be back when I am in...
