0/10, do not recommend. I just had the worst experience at this restaurant. I went there to unwind from work and had a terrible service. I felt as though other customers were treated better than my friend and I, they even ordered the same food as us and their nachos had extra toppings on top. The waiter was probably annoyed from when we walked in because we asked to move since there was a bug on the window. Then we said we didn’t want salt on the rim of our margarita and felt she was annoyed because we didn’t say that off the jump but she also didn’t ask if that was ok. The quesadillas barely had cheese and the chicken in it was terrible. I’ve never had quesadillas like this any where and I’m a big fan of Mexican food. I told her it was bad and she said that’s how they season it instead of looking for a solution. At the end of our service I asked if she could do anything about the quesadillas which we didn’t eat and she offered to give us a discount then decided she would rather give us something which she said it would be 2 large margaritas in one and Was the same small one. It seemed as though the staff were all speaking about our situation and that was awkward. The best part of this might’ve been the music. Overall, I’m just frustrated because I’ve been wanting to stop at this restaurant for a minute and it was a huge...

We ended up here because our first choice was booked for a private party and I'm pleased that we did! Place was crowded, tables are a bit tight, but that's ok. Some space opened up once the 7pm theater crews headed out for their curtains.

We had the premium margarita, the app of flautas that they subbed in flour tortilla for us. The chicken inside was a little bland, but I have found that can be common in many Mexican restaurants. The beans and sauce it was served with were yummy! My husband had the pork chimichanga and I had the steak ranchero. The chimichanga was full of flavor and a decent portion. The steak was cooked to the temperature that I requested and pretty good!

I think the price points for some of the items on the menu are a high, but I'm also from NJ/NY and used to that city surcharge... but still, that wasn't a $34.00 steak. The server was very attentive and even surprised up with two shots.

All in all, not a bad place to visit for some Mexican food that is good and in a great location if you're seeing a show - just be prepared for the bill at the end. Oh... if you don't want a drink that literally flashes - ask them to not put the blinking colored light in your margarita, it can be a little...

Okay please read between the lines here. The food is okay The wait staff are fantastic and the location is good.

However, the management could benefit from additional training on how to treat customers. The additional training would include lessons about how being too draconian is not going to be beneficial.

I'm my situation, six of my family were having dinner and three of the additional members were late. The original six members ordered. When the additional three members arrived and asked to join us at the table next to ours, the manager said no as the adjoining table was for a group larger than three people.

The manager went on to say that if they wanted to eat there, they would have to sit at another table across the facility.

Further, it seemed ironic that in this situation the restaurant was almost empty at the time and that in the next hour there were no new customers seated. Clearly in this case the management was much more rigid than reasonable.

This is unfortunate and I do want to mention that I normally do not get anything but...

Sombrero is one of my favorite places to go in the neighborhood. The service there is always excellent. I am taken care of from the moment I enter until I leave. Always very accommodating. In their outside area they let me bring Ellie my Husky/Labrador rescue. They bring her water and friendly faces. It doesn’t matter if I come with my dog or I am meeting friends they make me feel welcome and comfortable. I am gluten free and with the corn tortillas they have plenty of options. Kevin and Daisy come over to say hi and make sure I don’t need anything and sometimes they bring with them a shot of Tequila. The margaritas are the best value in the neighborhood as well as being tasty. I highly recommend the food especially the enchiladas. I raise a glass to praise and toast Kevin, Daisy and the incredible staff at Sombrero. A special shout out to the two hosts one male and one female who stand at the door in the cold an heat to welcome me in. They couldn’t be nicer or more welcoming.

During training this week in mid-town we visited a bunch of places. This one barely caught my eye as Times Square is an assault on the senses. So on the last day of training I recommend this place to my co-worker and we are pleasantly surprised. The place had just opened, so it was empty, we picked our seats and looked at the menu. My co-worker quickly scanned the menu and found what he wanted, I wanted to spend some time scanning the menu, but got the 3 enchilada special. We had explained that we only had a hour so the food would have to come out faster than usual. After placing our our, the waitress brought chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice kick to it. We gobbled the chips pretty quick. Then the entrees came, my co-worker had ordered shrimp tacos and he was quickly overwhelmed by the quantity of shrimps in his 3 tacos. I got my plate and was impressed with the flavor.

This is definitely! the chill spot! No... really... the food is amazing!, the selection is anytime of the day food. Oh... & the drinks... wow! U will be feeling nice! ....nice & tipsy afterthe second drink. Options galore. The atmosphere is quaint & cozy, with very lively music. The service was fast &... delicious. Wink.. wink... just a lil joke... but really, try it for ur self. I'm sure well bump into each other there, c u there. I hope u enjoy this "Sombrero restaurant", as much as I do. My new favorite spot. The neighborhood is awesome u have everything u need here. Two blocks away from "Time square" all the trains near-by, so no need for driving, unless someone else will be driving u but, parking is not exactly available, it's the city, parking is hard to come-by, unless u paying $25 or more.
