I can’t thank Urte enough for the custom piece of art she made us. She worked with us for several months to design an incredibly unique wedding ring for my wife. We had wandered into her shop and noticed a beautiful ring design with a square band and floating setting called the Mana which had a single stone on the band. I was really excited to have two stones (a diamond and and alexandrite) on the band and Urte rendered multiple designs to devise a way to keep the elegance of the square band and the floating setting but which still managed the complexity of both the stones. She then set it in silver so we could see what it would look like and how it would fit. Urte - is not just an amazing artist but she has a keen understanding of the materials and the engineering - so she was able to see that the dual setting would change the sizing dynamics and she modified the sizing for my wife accordingly. She also helped me sneak the ring out before my wife realized it was down so I could propose 🤗. My fiancée and I brought an heirloom engagement ring to Still House to have a new custom setting designed and created. The design aesthetic of Still House’s jewelry collection spoke to us, so we wanted a setting that was clean and modern but that also referenced the original ring which had been in the family for generations. Still House nailed it! Urte and her team were delightful people to work with from the start. She took the time to discuss and explore several different ring designs with us, and sketched out some ideas that she later refined, modeled and cast. We were involved in the design process at every step, so it was a really fun collaboration project for us as a couple with Urte and it will be something we always remember. It was really exciting to see how the design progressed and we could not be more pleased with the end result. I’m not really a jewelry guy, and I was initially intimidated by the thought (and potential cost) of doing a custom ring, but Still House made the process much more fun and reasonable than I had thought. The custom design process was very smooth and basically a privilege for me to witness a master at work in Urte. Three custom pieces later, I cant say I have ever been more satisfied and happier to support a business than I am in the resulting engagement ring, wedding ring, and diamond earrings I had custom made for my wife.
