TL;DR: I recommended this place to someone at the NSA and come from outside NYC to use it.
Long story short: if you have a place you trust, fine; if you're shopping around, try this place – you won't find a reason to keep looking. If you're trying such a service for the first time, try this place.
My experience with a recent phone-related issue (2nd time I sought them after a fast, solid, far-less-expensive-than Apple Store battery upgrade), they first started by explaining how I may not need their service at all (Who does that these days?) and gave me alternative options I can try myself; after that, they assured me that "everything can be repaired – depending on the degree of damage and what you're willing to spend" – and gave me a comprehensive rundown of an option tree that pre-answered all my possible questions and concerns and gave me everything I needed to make a sound, informed decision – and this was part before, and part after a free evaluation of my phone that only took about 10 minutes or so.
Ultimately the degree of damage was so much that unless I was willing to spend quite a bit to recover arcane bits of data, it would be pointless to not just get a new phone – something that they sort of steered me to – again "Who does that these days?".
In conclusion, they are deservedly confident in their knowledge that they readily share with you to make the best-informed decision you can make for you – EVEN if it means you decide on not using their services – again, "Who does that these days?"
If however you DO decide to use their services, from my experience so far it's a fast, hassle-free and technically satisfying outcome at VERY competitive prices.
In conclusion, not saying anything bad about other places – but it's hard to find a single fault with this place so far from customer service to price to you name it and the more you're aware of the many possible decisions you can make regarding technical matters, the more you'll appreciate how they take the time to give you their expert advice so you can make the right...
Read moreI'll never take my iPhone to an Apple store again. This place is sooooo much better. I showed up at the Apple store 15 min late for the appointment I made 24 hrs in advance (to replace a shattered screen), and they made me wait another hour for the next available appointment. Once the "technician" in the back inspected my phone, I was told that there was too much damage to the glass for it to be repaired, so I'd have to spend $300 to replace the entire phone. Mind you, this phone was still 100% functional and only 2 weeks old. I politely told them they could go F themselves and that I'd get it done cheaper elsewhere. To my pleasant surprise, I found Simple Mac iPhone Repair to be less than 10 minutes from the Apple store. I showed up and was greeted nicely by the staff. They took a minute to inspect my phone and make sure everything was functioning properly (cameras, buttons, touch screen, speakers), then took down my info and told me to come back in 25 minutes. When I came back, my iPhone 6 was good as new!!! To make a long story short, (I guess it's already too late) this place did the job perfectly in in a fraction of the time Apple would have taken, and for only $149 , which is quite reasonable, especially when compared to buying another brand new phone. It also comes with a 1...
Read moreThe only reason I can even write this review right now is because Simple Mac rescued my laptop from the dreaded black screen of death. I accidentally dropped my 2015 MacBook Pro — it was a short fall (from a chair) but it did the trick and I could no longer get the screen to turn on — even the little Apple logo would no longer light up. I brought it to the Apple Store Genius Bar first but they told me flat out that they could not help me because they don't carry parts for computers older than five years. Welp. I asked if there was anything Apple could do to help me and the staff member there actually referred me to Simple Mac. I urgently needed this laptop to be repaired because I had a looming deadline and some passwords I needed access. Luckily Tony at Simple Mac was able to help me figure out the issue (the screen, while not cracked, was broken during the fall) and repaired my laptop ON THE SAME DAY I brought it in, all for a reasonable price as well. This dude knows what he's doing, folks. I could not be more satisfied with my experience at Simple Mac and while it was unfortunate that I damaged my laptop, I'm really glad I discovered this business in the process because now I know where to go if I have any other Mac-related...
