Loved it. Some history: Stone Street is one of the first paved streets in New York City. Its history dates back to the Dutch colonial period in the 1650s when the city was known as New Amsterdam. At that time, most of the streets were dirt paths; however, the Dutch paved this street with cobblestones, giving it its name until today. Now: Stone St is a bohemian space with a distinctly European style. It has several restaurants and bars, such as Daisy Dukes Honky Tonk, Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina, Route 66 American Kitchen & Bar, and Stone Street Tavern....

Stone Street is a charming and historic cobblestone street tucked away in the Financial District of Manhattan. Lined with old-style buildings and full of outdoor seating, it’s a great place to grab a drink or a bite to eat, especially in the warmer months. The atmosphere feels unique—almost European—with a cozy, lively vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city. Whether you’re looking for a casual pub, a nice restaurant, or just a cool spot to relax, Stone Street offers a great experience. It’s a hidden gem that captures a different side...

As New York commercializes at a pace and shining glass and steel modernism replaces the character in most neighborhoods, it is very pleasing to see Stone Street retaining its charm and character as a little throwback to New York of yesteryear. Cobble stoned roads, which are car free , allows for a European style Cafe culture to persist in downtown Manhattan. Many established bars offer a range of food and drink but watch out for those summer storms which create...

Charming Stone Street in Lower Manhattan Stone Street, a short cobblestone street in the Financial District of Manhattan is one of New York City’s oldest streets. It is a pedestrian-only street and night life hub in the Financial District, filled with restaurants and bars. It runs in two sections between Whitehall Street in the west and Hanover Square in the east. Stone Street contains several prominent structures, including 1 Hanover Square, a National Historic Landmark. The eastern portion of the street and the surrounding buildings are designated as the Stone Street Historic District, which is both listed on the National Register of Historic Places and protected by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. @stonestreetnyc @downtownnyc Tag someone you’d like to visit this area of Lower Manhattan with. 📍Stone Street, Financial District, Lower Manhattan, New York City #stonestreet #stonestreetnyc #financialdistrict #financialdistrictnyc #lowermanhattan #newyork #thingstodoinnewyork #stonestreethistoricdistrict
