WELL WELL WELL HOW THE TURN TABLES TURN! Iight so boom. The last time I went it was on a slight date tip so I tried to be cute & refined. NOPE. I pulled up with my homegirl for brunch and OMG YES YES YES!
So they don't take reservations for brunch, but it's fine our wait was about 30-45 mins and there's a huge sitting area down the street from the restaurant. Cool. After 45 mins exactly our table was waiting for us. They have outdoor seating & plenty of it, tables inside were 25% capacity and separated by plastic barries...AND THEY HAVE AN OUTDOOR PATIO! The first time I arrived I didn't make it that far into the restaurant but the outdoor patio was simply beautiful. One of the members of your party have to fill out the contact tracing form and you must show it to your server before they take your order. #Nice
So once all of that was taken care of...it's brunch time. One thing I like about this place....MARGS FOR BRUNCH. My homegirl isn't a fan of too much champagne, it just makes her sleepy and bloated. So we opted for the margs. Tell me why after ONE DRINK we were feeling itttt. Literally, just one. I love it here. Our waiter made sure our glasses were filled alwayssss. LOVE IT HERE!
I ordered the Cheese Crust Steak taco and fries. YOU READ IT RIGHT! Grilled steak WRAPPED IN AN OAXACA CHEESE CRUST. Let me tell you, I figured it would be good based on the description but OH MY GOD IT WAS AMAZING. I took one bite and said "girl, you in for a good time!" My homegirl loved her surf and turf burrito. We ate it all. Everything. To the last bite. Drank until we couldn't anymore, then ordered tequila shots for the road.
Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY! No question. Thank...
Read moreWas really excited to do the toro loco drag show brunch but was disappointed.
The food wasn’t very good, I barely ate one taco. The bottomless brunch, has to be for the whole table. My friends wanted to drink, so I felt like I had to choose between paying $28 and not drinking, and drinking when I wanted to be productive in the evening. My friends had a drink that was in the bottomless brunch menu, and after we began the bottomless brunch he didn’t tell us he was going to charge for the drink prior to bottomless brunch until mid way through. I understand if it was a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu to be charged, but it wasn’t. When we got the check, despite explaining that wasn’t cool and the waiter agreeing, it wasn’t taken off the check. Even though we started it late, they wanted to stop it when our reservation was up then “honored one more drink” after pushing us out of our table to the bar. The waiter waited until everyone’s drink was empty before refills. After pushing us out of our table to the bar where you can no longer see the show, the blonde hostess came by to make sure we paid.
If you decide to go, make a 2 pm reservation as that’s when the show begins. Start bottomless brunch immediately because it’s only 90 min. Don’t come hungry. Bring cash to tip because the drag queens will tell you how underpaid they are before and after each act. Check your receipt before paying.
I, however, will not be coming back. My $50 + brunch will be better spent at a place in the city with edible food and service you don’t have...
Read moreWent on Wednesday night with two people; wasn’t crowded at all and we got sat pretty quickly. The food didn’t take long to come out, but I was pretty hungry as is so it felt like forever lol. The server was nice and comped our sodas because my tacos came out to me with onions on them when I asked for none (ofc neither of us made a big deal of this—I just let him know and I picked them off cause I was hungry). No complaints about the server, and I don’t have anything negative to say about the food; I just didn’t care for it much, but it wasn’t awful at all.
The only reason I docked a star was because of the obnoxiously loud party of God knows how many two tables down. They were screaming and yelling the entire time and I didn’t see staff intervene at any time. My friend and I were there for 45min max and that table was served alcohol three times, despite the fact that they were already yelling when we first came in. If it were the bar I worked at, that table would’ve been cut off after the first round of shots and drinks that I saw. They were wearing business casual, so I’m assuming it was either a work outing or an after-work outing. Regardless, my party, the party next to us, and just about everyone in our row was fed up with the noise. If that party of people winds up seeing this, you guys were awful to be around and have zero consideration for the guests around you. It’s a restaurant—not a screaming match. If you want to cause a ruckus, PUBLIC Hotel is just a train ride away from here. Take that...
