Fellow Barber - Hudson Yards — Local services in New York

Had a very odd experience today. Decided to try out this location as it's not far from my apartment. My barber takes me to the chair - everything seemed normal at first but he was moving very quickly and jumping around to different parts of my hair randomly, the cut was uncomfortable and he kept hitting my ear with the buzzer so I finally asked him to slow down after the fourth time he hit my ear. He apologized and then told me I needed to keep my hands inside the chair (my hands were folded in my lap the whole time).

He then started rubbing his face over and over again and eventually walked into the towel closet without saying anything. It appeared like he was either upset or on drugs. I asked the other barber to check on him, and he came back out 5 min later and said he would finish me after he was done with his client, so I went to sit in the front while I waited.

I would have left at this point but my hair was 1/2 cut. The new barber finished my hair and did an ok job, I just wanted to get out of there, it was very odd and uncomfortable. The other guy never came out of the closet. They still charged me the full $50.... I'm gonna stick to my other barbers in Hells Kitchen from now on... this was by far the strangest haircut...

I write this at the risk of sounding like I am fake, but I can assure you this was truly my experience:

Horrible hair cut. Went in for a trim for a scissor cut and came back with short hair. Asked for an inch trim from a medium long hair style and went to short real fast.

Unfortunately, this barber in partictular isnt worth the 85 dollars i paid. I have had 500 dollar salon hair cuts and 2 dollar haircuts overseas and these didnt meet any expectation.

When complained to the front desk, they said their manager doesn't work weekends and then goes on to say that they will get me their manager in 5 minutes via text...

Insult to injury: I was asked "what would you like us to do" and "there isn't much else to do".

Sorry you will not practically shave my head off and then ask for 85 dollars.

A simple refund and part ways would have saved everyone the trouble. Troubling that their front desk has zero people training.

Safe to say, not returning nor recommending to anyone. I live in HY as well;...
