Sylvia is an incredible tailor and dressmaker. I got my bridal qipao here and the process was extremely easy and efficient--an initial visit to pick out my style and take my measurements, then I came back to try it on once I was done, and then she made a couple more adjustments so it fit me perfectly. The dress is so well-made that my dry cleaner, unprompted, noticed and raved about its quality and attention to detail!

When I mini-panicked two days before my wedding because my Western dress no longer fit quite right, she calmly tailored it right away, and you'd never be able to tell that the dress was altered.

You need to see Sylvia not just for qipao--but please do, she's one of the only people left in NYC who can make them for you!!!!!--but also for all of your tailoring and alteration needs for any style of clothing. She's amazing!!!!!

Sylvia is absolutely amazing and a pleasure to work with! She knows what she is doing and will give you all of her honest opinions on what works and doesn't work for your body. She takes pride in all of the qi pao's she makes. Even after four fittings later, she still felt that it was not perfect by her standards and told me to bring it back after my event so that she can ensure it meets her standards. Prices are very fair and well worth every dollar spent! You won't regret going to see her. Just make sure you set up an appointment! During a fitting appt that I had with her, there was someone who tried to do a walk-in and was very pushy about it, Sylvia stood her ground and said they would have to come back an hour later when she was available. Sylvia works by appointment only and she will give you the time and care needed to create the perfect dress. Sylvia made me the wedding dress of my dreams! We are forever grateful for her artistic skill and talents. I wore this red qipao like dress as my wedding gown and did not wear white. She made me a 14 inch train and made the dress to compliment my figure. She was able to put the Peacock on the front and back of my dress where I wanted it and she fitted everything at the end. Our family is so happy with everything and my niece and nephew also looked very good in the matching outfits she provided. Thank you so much for your hard work to make our wedding day very special.
