The 39 Steps Martini
Vodka, anchovy, olives. Alfred hitchcock would appreciate it!
Paper Plane
Bourbon, aperol, amaro nonino, lime juice. This plane doesn't depart-but it'll still take you away.
Gin Garden
Gin, elderflower liqueur, apple juice, cucumber, lemon. Fresh, floral, and impossibly smooth-your own little oasis in a glass.
Inner Anti-Critic
Mezcal, agave nectar, lime juice, sherry, ginger and nutmeg sprinkles. Finally, a drink that lets your inner critic take a smoke break.
Americano
Campari, sweet vermouth, soda. That's what james bond ordered - like a true italian day-drinker.

Today, I was here for the second time. The first time I read and today I got a lot of work done. The coffee is excellent. It is a light roast that is not bitter or too strong. The croissant I had was tasty, fresh and the right amount of a buttery, fluffy flavor that melted as I chewed. The vibes are good, the service is friendly and a hip atmosphere. The only thing I did not like are the chairs. They are comfortable at first but after sitting for awhile my back hurt. So, I may have found a new cool coffee spot and most likely will not work here. Welcome to the neighborhood!

It is so hard to get truly excellent decaf coffee. But when the manager, Baka, is making it, it's perfect every time. Never too watery, or too bitter. I am always so happy on the days when he's there. And for folks who need outdoor dining/drinking options, they have a large, pleasant backward. Not a lot of shade from the sun or rain, but on nice days it's a very solid option if you need a Covid-safe place to chill. Wednesdays they have half price deals, and many nights they have some kind of event (art, music, comedy, etc.).

Bad Therapy blends two unlikely worlds in New York and nails it. It’s like a cozy neighborhood bar—perfect for unwinding with wine or coffee—but with live music, art, and great food that keeps things exciting. The menu’s always fresh, the music changes nightly, and the vibe is creative and inviting. The garden is a hidden gem, lush and pink, turning into an outdoor movie spot in summer, with carefully selected films year-round. It’s a true neighborhood treasure!

Love this place.

The ambiance is awesome. There is a massive bookshelf with a variety of books id you need a break from your work + a spacious outdoors.

Their croissants and tahini cookies are amazing. Many Vegan options.

Staff is super welcoming.

It always very clean-- I know this may be a strange comment, but (as someone who dwells in such cafes often) there are so many places that have great spaces/ambience to accommodate a high-traffic of laptop folk, but then they dont prioritize the upkeep and it becomes unpleasant since you're there to work, eat and drink. Fortunately this place is kept very well, tables are always ready without stuff, bathrooms are clean and smell great, food is always fresh and well-handled.

My only issue is that sometimes the music is very loud and fast beat (techno-ish) which can be distracting when I am trying to focus. BUT the guy sitting next to me today is typing away while bopping his head, so I guess it...

I finally decided to check out this coffee shop in my neighborhood and didn’t know what to expect. I love the dim lighting in the shop, it makes me feel more calm personally and the unique music with no lyrics is great while concentrating on work. The workers are very nice and chill and the drinks are REALLY good. Honestly shocked how much more I like this place than Connecticut muffin I stopped going there shortly after my first visit at bad therapy. The Poética coffee always slaps and I recently tried their lemonade specials, berry lemonade and passion fruit lemonade, pricey but both were very pretty and very delicious! I wasn’t expecting them to be sparkling either it added a nice touch. Overall, great atmosphere for getting work done, service is fast but not rushed, and the drinks are delish. I wouldn’t get the food there because it honestly looks store...

Delicious pastry, tasty coffee, nice place… with only one person working and another standing there staring at her watching her work. I’m not sure what the deal is there, but they need to have two people going. One focused on making drinks and the other on taking orders/helping. This one (nice, once you could get there!) woman was taking a single order, then making the drinks for it, then grabbing the food. Lather, rinse, and repeat. It made for a huge line at all times. While the other person literally stood back there and watched her. I saw her once hop onto the computer to start taking an order, but then nothing else. I don’t know if she was new or what, but it was weird. I’ll go back because the coffee was nice, decently priced, and the place was overall a win… but I’m...
