Read moreOn Mother's Day, with the mom of my 2 children, here for over an hour, and my party hasn't received their food yet. Annoyed and upset. Prior to that, the qr code didn't work for my phone. They have beer on tap and bottled but didn't bother to put any of them on the menu. I mentioned it to a staff member at the bar, and he said they know and that they are working on it. Idk how long it takes to add a beer menu to your already digital menu. What sense does it make to not list the liquor you have available, and we know that in NYC, selling alcohol is huge for your bottom line. I will never eat here again because the service is terrible.
Then, I tried to explain my terrible experience to the owner. He cut me off several times, explaining he didn't have time to hear about my bad experience because the restaurant was busy. Isn't that the point of having a restaurant is that it can be packed as often as possible to make money. And here I am telling you that you are messing up and possibly where you can improve. After receiving food an hour and 15 mins after being seated, it was cold. Mashed potatoes were dry. We only got our food because we had to remind the server about our entrees. Mind you, we ordered everything at the beginning. The owner only cared if the food had an issue. I told him I didn't even try it yet to know. I asked my wife how was her food. Her beef short ribs were dry and had no sauce but they were braised ribs with wine. The mashed potatoes were dry. I could tell just by looking they cooled off and started to dry and develop and crust. The owner told us he will gladly take the food and we can leave. Rude and disrespectful. I know my options when I don't receive good service. It's to not pay and leave, which is what we did. Thanks for the free appetizers. Also, the owner didn't even know what beers he had on tap. He had to do several glances at the bar to know what he had. And the modelo especial on tap that I was served was flat and watery with...
Read moreI ordered a lychee martini and noticed black particles floating in it, clearly not normal. I politely brought it to the waitress’s attention and she acknowledged the issue and took it to the bartender. What followed was incredibly unprofessional.
Instead of quietly addressing it, the bartender loudly proclaimed that "lychee normally has stuff that comes out of it"… clearly trying to make a point within earshot. It felt like a deliberate attempt to dismiss my concern. I turned around and told them not to bother making a new one and I don’t want it anymore, since it’s such a hassle to serve a clean drink.
To my surprise, the same drink was brought back, just with the floating stuff removed. I didn’t touch it. Later, the waitress asked if I still wanted the drink, and I reminded her that I already said no, especially after the bartender’s rude behavior.
For the record, I’ve had lychee martinis at plenty of places, from upscale spots to casual lounges. I know what the fruit looks like. The bartender’s condescending comment that “that’s how they are, they have a brown thing coming out the middle” felt like an insult to my intelligence, not a genuine explanation.
Aside from the service, the salmon was okay, and the coconut brûlée was decent didn’t get any flavor of coconut. The presentation was nice but honestly, if you have other options, take them. I wouldn’t return — not because of the food, but because hospitality is just as important, and this place clearly...
