Sophomoric, even juvenile is our take on the event. It was loud, cornball without any semblance of intelligence woven into the fabric of the story, jokes or action - if you could call what we saw acting. I’m certainly not clear what I paid nearly $270.00 for because it was undeniably not the food. My bar tab, on the other hand, exceeded the price of this event even though we only had a couple of drinks each. I would expect to have paid that much at the Waldorf, but not in the basement of an obscure little dive in the Wall Street area.
Finally, and I will admit this much, the perpetrator of the mock crime is still unknown to us but that may be because we left halfway through. The parting comment I have is for the gentleman sitting next to me since his remark about the event seemed to encapsulate our feelings - he said it was his idea of hell. Well, kudos to you sir. Read moreWe had a great time. The food at Carmine’s was really good, especially the shrimp. My only complaint is that most of audience members who got picked to play parts weren’t dressed up, and some had trouble reading their parts. About half the people there were in full costume, so it wouldn’t be hard to find willing actors. One guy who got picked acted like he was being dragged through the event, and since you need to interact with the individuals, it was difficult. The persona our table was given had no relevance to the murder, but we all got really into it. Be aware that you are expected to tip on the ticket price as well as the drinks, and the waitress will go up to each person at the table individually to explain. Plan to add 26$ per person to the bill. Don’t let that dissuade you though, as long as you are extroverted, you will adore the cast and...

The actors were engaging, funny, and kept everyone on their toes. We were part of the mystery—gathering clues, interrogating suspects, and trying to figure out whodunnit while enjoying a great meal.
Carmine’s family-style Italian dishes were the perfect complement to the show—huge portions, delicious pasta, and classic New York vibes. Whether you go with friends, family, or even for a date night, it’s a memorable experience that mixes food, fun, and a little bit of drama in the best way.
If you’re looking for something different to do in NYC, this is it....
