One star too many! This store was handling the packaging and shipping of a precious artwork that I won from an antique auction. The shipping and handling cost me $370, which is rather high, so I expected it would be packaged accordingly.
I was shocked upon receiving the package with the painting. The pieces of antique frame were falling out of the seams of the box. There was no bubble wrap around the frame or frame corners, just cardboard and some air bags (half flat) on the bottom of the package. I called the store immediately and talked to a person who said he "was present during the packaging", John. He told me he would file a claim for me and someone may come to examine the damage on the painting or it could be taken to UPS office for the investigation. Expecting no wrong, I gave the painting back to UPS for the investigation in the same package I received it in.
After hearing nothing back for 20 days (even though I was told it should only take 8-10 days) I called John again. He said that the claim was approved and the check should be issued soon. Fast-forward to today over a month after the claim was made I received a call from John who told me I will be reimbursed only 55% of the shipping cost and they are keeping the painting. I thought it was a joke. I said that I do not accept this and that I was misled through the entire process. They did a poor job packaging a precious item, took it from me and won't refund me for the shipping. What kind of service is that??? I was shouted at, told I "can't have my cake and eat it too" (it appears to me they won't let me do either), constantly talked over and frankly lied to. I did end up filing a complaint with the attorney general of NY, as there was no point in continuing this one-sided conversation with the store.
I hope that my painting of a Russian village girl in a fairytale-like winter scene reminds them daily of how they lied to and robbed another Russian girl, an amateur collector of unique art, of $800 and an anticipated auction win. Brooklyn, you...
Read moreWhen i went to their office in 914 3rd Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11232, United States, everything seemed to be proceeding normally. The service guy was friendly and quite helpful. The box filled with comics books weighted 100 pounds. The shipment was domestic, bound for Miami and, just for safety decided to purchase an insurance. A week later the box never even made it to it´s destination. Then they claimed the box had been abandoned at their office. (Maybe “abandoned” is just UPS´s Fancy term for describing what the rest of us call dropping off and pay for a shipment and insurance) Since that excuse was too vague, they move on: first, the address was supposedly wrong, then, they claimed they already changed it, then that the box wasn´t accepted in the destination. (TIWAY LLC, A company I know for a long time who´s job is receivIng and sending packages) finally it was “lost”, then miraculously it returned back to my own address but for them I refused to receive it (lauging out loud). So in the end they decided not to pay the insurance they had no choice but to send it off for disposal and because of all the narrative before insurance won´t cover the lost package..convenient, right? When i called the store i got promised several times i was going to receive a phone call the next day with news on my package, simply never happened. Forget about calling their 0800 number, you wont get any help there since its people overseas repeating the tracking info you can see for yourself on your own computer. i have no other option to contact my lawyer now and waste more time to collect the insurance money i paid for, this is a SCAM. do not ship with UPS
Clearly a ficticious construction, a faked historial of events. Either the box was lost from the begining or was stolen and then the created a narrative to avoid paying. A scam plain and simple....
Read morethey ripped off client as much as they could, so beware of it! I went there to drop off amazon package and use printing service, this is how it went- printing service: the staff is new and could not know how to print out directly from usb, so I have to wait for the computer availability. It seems no adequate training to new staff. (I went to UPS store in midtown near 5th Ave for the same service a while ago and the store assistant was very competence, he guided me how to plug in usb to their machine and print it out). drop off service: my package need a label and return receipt, therefore I could not seal it at home. After print out the label, I asked the staff nicely if they could give me few inches of tape to seal the box, then its ready to go. Nope, they insisted on buying tape or leave the place, so I have no choice buying a tape to seal it. I wish I could use the whole roll on the package but it could be seen as weirdo when amazon receive it. The situation was also very intense when the manager came to confront me that it is my responsibility to seal the box before drop off. Wow, I have never seen any rude attitude like that, and I was not in conversation with him. I know I should have bring tape but how much will you lost giving client some extra support? (For the same service in UPS midtown, the staff gave me tape to seal the box when I drop off package. I do the book return after each semester and these are two services that I usually do together). This place is not helpful and manager is rude. So be prepared for unwelcoming attitude when you need any help on...
