The UPS Store — Local services in New York

Hello. I was picking up my package from urban outfitters on Nov 6th, 2023 at 12:10pm at the UPS store on 462 w 42nd st, which serves as their collection point. I have used this service previously without any hiccups, but this time it took a while for the employee to believe that they even had my package or that I would ship it directly to the store before they finally checked the tracking number and easily placed it. Afterward, I was told to pay a $7 storage fee, which puzzled me since UO should’ve obviously covered that cost. After mentioning this to the employee, I was told that they weren’t aware of what was going on and that the storage fee was always a thing. And only after paying the fee and having left the store I saw that there was a big sticker slip on the package with a bold black number 3001 on it that said that my package was delivered and my storage fee was waived. I’m a little upset that I didn’t notice it sooner and that the employee failed to mention that, but that is obviously because they haven’t been informed of this, and the UPS software most likely failed to mention that under my order. I have no issue with the order or the employee, but I do not want to use the service of picking up my package at this UPS collection point again and fear encountering the same problem. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!!! THEY ARE DISHONEST RIP OFF ARTIST!!!!! I came into this place on May 9th to make copies of bank statements l needed for my rent recertification. First, the copying machine doesn't copy both sides of the original copy, so you are forced to copy individually each side, which means more sheets, hence more money to spend unnecessarily. After addressing this to the clerk, he apologized and initially didn't charge me the $40+ dollars for the extra copies that could've been avoided if the copying machine copied both sides. The clerk charged me $16 dollars, which I thought was fair, but then the following day, when I checked my bank account activity, I discovered that those crooks took the $40+ dollars anyway from my account, after initially discounting me for all those unnecessary copies that could've been avoided, if the copying machine was able to copy both sides of the original. That's some racket they have with that copying machine. This is very bad for business and I'd be surprised if that place last 2 years. I must overstate, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!! THEY ARE DISHONEST RIP...

I had a box of important things to be shipped back home from NYC. There is a famous quote by Maya Angelou that goes, ‘Customer Service is what you do for someone. Hospitality is how you make them feel’. Of course the Store team of Derrick and Endry were able to deal With labeling and shipping the box…That’s what I needed. They did that smoothly and efficiently ( after even taking the time to explain me getting a packing label online first at the UPS website… An easy transaction…. But when I get a cheerful smile and greeting, and an air that has us leaving thinking, ‘Man, those two sure took care of us’, and had us leaving feeling relieved that my gear is smoothly on its way and giving us a big relief of task accomplished , and thinking, if I lived in NYC, THAT would be my go-to store…..
