On Sunday Sep 8 we joined Caleb and a great group for an amazing walking tour of NYC. From the beginning, TIm and Caleb were great with communication by phone and text to make sure we were in the right place. My friend Kasey had never been to NYC so we chose this as the best way to get the highlights of the city. I had been to the city before and looked at things with my own eyes but with Caleb's great color commentary, it gave me a great appreciation for the history of many of the locations. He was an expert at delivering the information to us in an easy to understand way. He also clearly communicated the timing of time at each location, walking pace, etc. I will be honest I thought that a 6 hour walking tour would be like completing a marathon but it was a casual and comfortable pace. Still logged over 17K steps! The highlight for my friend and I was the 9/11 Memorial area at the World Trade Center. Since it was just a few days before the anniversary of 09/11 it made the stories even more realistic. Kasey even used the info she learned from this tour and a follow up with Caleb to give a presentation to her nephews 6th grade class as those kids only learn about this in history.
Also, Caleb gave us a great lunch recommendation (The Playwright) and a delicious dinner recommendation (Vida Verde) that was a block from our hotel and had a bottomless drink special, we needed that after a long day of walking and learning about NYC.
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars, there is a reason this is the best tour in NYC! Keep up the great work Tim...
Read moreThis was my years awaited dream solo trip to famous NY. I was cautioned plenty. To the contrary,my 7 days in city made me fall in love with it. And a major role was played by these amazing experiences provided on airbnb portal! Roger is the awesomest. He loves the city, loves his job. From the minute one, we all felt connected and engaged. He gave 100% and then some more to whole day. Rogerâs knowledge is full on! Historical, contemporary, culture, people. So the walk was educational and entertaining. It was one of the heat wave days. And we didnât feel it. He always made us wait in shades, kept us cool by his witđ. He is most sensitive to everyoneâs needs in a very subtle way. He was just too good with taking 1000 pics and telling us all the beautiful angles. My international roaming was messed up that day and he offered to stay on after the trip ended, to enable me to get a sim. And goodness doesnât end here. Two days after the walking tour, I was trying to catch dumbo experience before checking out. I had only 3 hours to make it. My research would have taken time and may not have been most productive. I reached out to him on weekend morning and within minutes,he shared such detailed info with all the subway routes, maps and great tips. I had a most magical time𼰠Thank you so much Roger and Timâs...
Read moreOn our recent trip to NYC we did a walking tour through Tim's Tours. Our guide was Pat and it was absolutely a wonderful way for us to explore Mid Town Manhattan. Pat is a New Yorker himself and has so much knowledge to share. We started at Central Park and among other things, we got to visit the Plaza, the Apple Shop, we dropped by Trump Towers, lit a candle in St Patricks. We visited the Rockefeller Centre, Grand Central Station, the National Library and Bryant Park before heading to Time Square. All along the way we learned about the other buildings and monuments we passed. We got stories and a social history from Pat which gave us great insights to how life has changed in New York over the years. It was fascinating to hear how the city has resiliently bounced back and adapted after various challenges (9/11, the economic crash, and COVID). We did our tour privately as a family because I use a mobility scooter and we were looking for a step free tour - it worked really well for us we had a lovely day. It felt like we were being shown round the city...
