Hands down the best, most affordable lot in Manhattan with a vast range of prices for trees. You can find a size and price to match your budget. Christmas tree lots are a racket. They over charge for the tree and then they overcharge you for the stand. This place, not so much. I live on the LES and walked to a number of different lots. This was the only place with trees for less than 60 bucks. The stands are sold near cost for 20 bucks. And if you get there before supplies run out, they'll give you free lights for the tree. All in, for the tree in the picture, I spent less than 100 bucks and that included the stand. I feel like I hit the Christmas tree lottery. The cherry on top is that they will deliver the tree for free, on bike. And they will come to your house and make sure you're happy with your purchase. I wanted the bottom of the tree to be cut shorter and they came the same day and fixed it.

They are beautiful trees! The owner Joe (great name, haha) made me feel like I was Kim K buying a $20k bag from Hermes. He held trees up for me to get perspective, and he rummaged through his stock until he found one that I couldn't take my eyes off of. He answered all of my questions and let me know that the trees were from North Carolina where they were grown thin to fit NY apartments. Joe put in a lot of thought to his operation so we could walk away satisfied. It shows.

I can't say nicer things about these people. Usually buying a christmas tree feels like a rip off as you're doing it. Not here. Here it felt like the place truly enjoyed making sure you got what you wanted at a price you could afford. And Joe gave me a guarantee that if the tree died before Christmas they would come and replace to make sure you were satisfied. There is not much more that I could ask for when purchasing a tree. I've been getting my tree from the wonderful people at Tree Riders for at least the last ten years now. There is a palpable feeling of excitement in the neighborhood each year when they arrive to set up their stall. The kindness of the staff at Tree Riders is always such a warmly welcomed and appreciated part of finding a tree to take home. They somehow manage to remember me each year which makes the whole experience feel even more lovely. The last few years I've started getting wreaths from them as well which are every bit as special as their trees. I always pick a tree that's on the smaller side, but they have trees to fit every kind of Christmas you can imagine. Big, small, and everything in between. We had a wonderful experience with Tree Riders. We originally picked out a tree on November 28th, but unfortunately the tree dried out after a couple of weeks. We emailed Tree Riders asking for a replacement - they were quick to respond and very accommodating, offering either to replace or refund our tree. Erica, Ed and the team were very helpful - showing us pictures of the new tree, and offering to bring it to us and help us dispose of our old tree. We are happy to have a new tree in our home.
