TLDR-- MAKE SURE YOUR TECH IS WHO YOU THINK THEY ARE -- if you care, which I certainly do.
My experience-- I had an incident in which Niki Pradhan (receptionist) switched my techs without asking or telling me, after reassuring me twice that I would be seen by Krishna. Krishna came highly recommended and this would have been my first appointment with her. I felt throughout the appointment that the lady working on me was not the same as Krishna was described. However I did not fathom it could be someone else especially because Niki reassured me twice already. I also did not want to risk being offensive to my tech by asking. It wasn't until the very end of the appointment that the tech handed me her card with her name, which was NOT Krishna. This only further confirmed why my experience was lacking and uncomfortable at times, to say the least. More importantly, I felt absolutely violated and disrespected knowing that I was deceived about who was handling my most private body part.
I inquired with Niki as to why this happened and why I was not made aware of the change. Though it is Uni K policy to ask and inform clients of changes, Niki did so WITHOUT asking or informing me but said she would essentially "do better next time". Whats worse, is that this is not the first time Niki has exercised poor decision making. On multiple occasions she has made assurances to me regarding my appointments but later attempts to rescind them.
I wanted to add that on a previous visit to Uni K Wax Lenox Hill , there was a client who was extremely upset. The client didn't trust that her tech was who Uni K claimed she was, perhaps because she also had techs unknowingly switched in the past? Similar to my experience. This suggests to me that they do a bate and switch in which they confirm a particular technician for you but then switch techs for their convenience in hopes that their newer clients won't notice or care. Very irresponsible. Has anyone reading this had the same experience? I understand that certain techs are highly requested and can't always be available for everyone but I think transparency and the option to choose, is key especially for establishments dealing with vulnerable body parts.
It's been 15 days since the incident and the only correspondence that I have received from the manager thus far is telling me that he is busy with year end business but will get back to me. I don't expect much at this point but truly only wanted to know that this was an establishment that is responsible, takes accountability and cares about trust with their...
Read moreI did a Brazilian, upper lip and chin. This is my my third time going to this uniwax location, first of all this location is great, it close to wrk, Customer service is awesome, "but", on my last visit there which was on Nov15th, I was told to come back on the 29th of said month to get a touch-up, however I was not able to make tht particler day, I ended up doing the 1st of December which is today, the young lady tht did my wax told me I could still claim for a touch-up, when I went to the front desk the receptionist told me the payment was $100.31, I said to her no I did a touch-up, it shouldn't be full price, she then told me I didn't make the appointed day so she has to charge the full price...which is ridiculous payed $91 on the 15th n today its over $100...tht in it self is a total rip off. I only payed it cause I had to rush back to wrk, I'm definitely not going back there again. So very disappointed đ đ đ. My name is Michelle...
Read moreI got an underarm wax and an above lip area wax and both were very well done, and somewhat exceeded what a typical wax treatment would do in one respect. For my underarms, the woman I worked with, Shraddha, made sure each hair was removed, and that any stray hairs were tweezed off. In addition, she removed extra hair technically above the underarm area, which were darker thicker hairs similar underarm hairs, so of the same hair type, but above the standard underarm area. This is an additional wax that I havenât always seen done at other places that offer wax treatments. The above lip wax I got covered all hair in that area, including off to the sides, and she tweezed a few hairs not removed by the wax. Also, the hair removal was comfortable overall, and seemed to have a less strong feeling of pulling out of hair than it has for other wax treatments...
