This studio is a hidden gem. Classes are intimate (I've never been to a class with more than 4 people), and the instructors are very passionate and knowledgeable; I used to go to CorePower and the quality of instruction is incomparable. AND facilities are clean and modern, miles better than any CorePower studio.
Dolma specifically is a really amazing instructor -- somehow crafting a session that is both relaxing while also physically challenging. What sets classes with Dolma apart from any other yoga class I've been to is her attention to detail and commitment to adjusting every small angle to ensure her students are getting the most out of each stretch. I've also been to two classes with Hiroko who is also great and knowledgeable, I would recommend both of these instructors!
Lastly, Hilltone (the owner of the studio) was very accommodating to allow me to extend my new student promotional period when I went away on vacation. He offers a lot of great deals, so even if the pricepoint is too high I recommend emailing/signing up for an intro class so you can keep up to date...
Read moreI had the most incredible experience at this small intimate yoga space. My friend recommended me this place as a newbie in yoga space and I really enjoyed my experience. The cozy setting created an atmosphere of serenity that's hard to find elsewhere in NYC. With only six students per class, I felt like I had the entire studio to myself, allowing for a deeply immersive practice.
What truly sets this studio apart is the personalized attention from the instructor. She not only guided us through the flow with expertise but also took the time to help each of us modify moves and refine our forms.
Overall, this small intimate yoga space exceeded all my expectations. It's a haven for anyone seeking mindfulness, growth, and a genuine connection to their practice. Five stars...
Read moreHiroko is the most sweetest and gentle instructor ever. I specifically come to Urban Studio just for Hiroko because she makes sure my form is correct and challenges me by learning how to trust myself and trust that my body can do it. I love that she starts the class off with breathing exercises and comes around to deepen our stretches because although it may be uncomfortable to be in a state where your body feels uncomfortable but its the process of learning how to stay calm while being in that state. Hiroko wants the best for her students and you can always see that. I love that she shares her passions to us and im very glad she teaches in LES. 110/100 will always recommend...
