Tl;dr: The pharmacist lied to me and her co-workers laughed and scoffed at my serious question and concerns. They deceived me into buying the pills they had instead of my Dr's prescription, which is highly unethical.
This review is for the pharmacy.
I went to get my regular refill, the pharmacist told me that they didn't have it. I asked specifically if all Walgreens have stopped carrying it, or just this Walgreens. She told me that no Walgreens has it. Because she made it seem like I didn't have a choice, I got another brand that they had available.
When I got home, I looked up the new brand. It has a lot of negative reviews and people react badly to it. So I went to the other Walgreens closer to Elmhurst station and they were able to give me my original pills. So clearly, the pharmacist in this Walgreens LIED to me about it being not available.
Elmhurst station Walgreens told me that I can take the new brand back to this Walgreens so I can get the pills that the doctor originally prescribed (otherwise, I would be short on the pills). This Walgreens refused to cancel the new pills. Okay~ No problem, I will just have to go to my doctor and get an extra prescription. But then I wanted to be certain wether it's just this Walgreens that doesn't have my pills or if all Walgreens have stopped - so I will need to change my drugstore. Now they tell me that they don't know. I told them that I'd rather not switch pills since people have terrible reactions to the new one. They (a lanky Asian guy and a chubby woman) just laughed and scoffed at me saying "it's the same thing". Yes, they do have the same active ingredients, but the inactive ingredients are vastly different. And people may have allergic reactions or other adverse effects to inactive ingredients.
During the whole time, they were doing other things and talked to me like I was an idiot. Their behavior was extremely dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. As pill sorting robots they are fine, but if you need any help, they are...
Read moreI went to this store to get the shingles vaccine as recommended by my doctor. The process was very unprofessional and left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. Despite providing all my information, the staff seemed confused about which vaccines I was scheduled to receive, and instead of clarifying properly, one of them criticized me for not knowing. They even argued back and forth among themselves rather than handling the situation with professionalism. To make things worse, some staff members laughed, made indirect comments, and gave me looks that made me feel very uncomfortable—almost as if they were mocking me. This is not how paying customers should be treated. Respect and courtesy cost nothing, yet the attitude here felt careless, dismissive, and unprofessional. I had a similar negative experience before at this location, which is why I had switched pharmacies. Unfortunately, my current pharmacy didn’t carry the vaccine, so I gave this location another chance. Big mistake—nothing has improved. I ended up leaving without the vaccine, even though I had already paid. This store needs serious training in customer service. People come here for healthcare, not to be treated like they are an inconvenience. Everyone deserves respect, and sadly, this place has shown again and again they do...
Read moreI'm surprised to see so many negative reviews about this particular store.
I visit once or twice monthly for years.
When entering the store, the security guards have always greeted me with a " good morning".
Sometimes I have seen a long line and I've had to wait and I wait patiently.
' don't take it out on the cashier's '. A simple smile or friendly acknowledgement is a breath of fresh air. If they don't reciprocate, simply smile and wish them a good day. ( They will remember that).
During the winter the heat is on and the AC is on during the warmer months.
Something that really stands out to me is for a store that big, it's always fully stocked and immaculate! ( It doesn't have that overcrowded feeling).
I've had to ask a few times for someone to unlock a case for me and they have done so very politely.
This place shine's in the pharmacy department.
From the cashier's to the pharmacist.
The pharmacist have stopped what they're doing and help me with any concerns that I may have. Even if it's about something completely different from whatever I'm picking up that day.
All in all, I've not had had an unpleasant experience in the years that...
