This is a horrible company to hire for a window repair. The level of unprofessionalism, rudeness and lack of respect for their customers is unprecedented. They intentionally deceived me in order to book the job in the first place. I strongly advise against hiring them.
Here is the whole story:
They arranged for somebody to come in and provide an estimate for a repair of the metallic frame of a window. The glass was in a good shape, however there was a small crack near the edge, which I didn't plan to fix at that point as it was minor. The guy who came in for the estimate didn't notice the crack - although it was his job to see it and let me know if there would be any complication for the frame repair.
That same guy said the payment would be 50% upfront and 50% after the job is completed, in case I decided to hire them.
After I received the estimate by email, I called them to ask how long it would take. I spoke with Louie R. who confirmed it'd take 5 days to 1 week for them to receive the spare parts, and then we could schedule it immediately. Also, because the job was less that $2,000, their policy is to receive all the money upfront (!)
I decided to hire them as I wanted the repair to be done quickly, so I proceeded with the upfornt payment.
As I hadn't received any notification after 1 week, I called to see what was going on. Louie R. then told me it would take 3-4 weeks to get the spare parts. When I demanded to know why I had been told 5 days to 1 week in the first place, he unwillingly apologised - most likely to get rid of me. I requested to schedule the repair appointment in exactly 4 weeks to avoid losing any more time, but he said they couldn't schedule anything before receiving the spare parts.
They called me after 4 weeks to let me know the spare parts had arrived and their first availability for the repair appointment would be after 2 extra weeks.
Finally (and after all this time), the repair guys came in. After seeing the window, they noticed the minor crack and told me the repair process might cause the whole glass to break but that wouldn't be their responsibility. I asked why nobody had mentioned that in the first place, but they had no answer - nor did they care about it.
I called WindowFix and requested to speak with Louie R. but he wouldn't come to the phone. The person who answered the phone suggested that if the glass broke, I could further hire them to fix it (!)
Besides the complete lack of professionalism, the level of rudeness is also worth mentioning. Everybody I spoke to in this company, from the lady that answers the phone to Louie Rinaldi who apparently has a managerial position, was extremely impolite - as if they don't know how to speak to people. Cavemen.
At the end, although I had the option of cancelling the job, after so many weeks I couldn't lose any more time so I didn't cancel it. That said, my overall experience has...
Read moreI had a gentleman come on Saturday to give me an estimate on the repair of five windows. Gentleman asked me what I thought was wrong. I explained to the gentleman that I had repaired one of the windows in the past and that I was familiar with the repairs but that I am in a wheelchair from an accident so I was not able to do the job myself. Waited Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning for a phone call, never received one. decided to call this morning. gentleman that I spoke to really hadn’t looked at the estimate and today being Wednesday I thought that was a little peculiar. (In my opinion) my little five window job wasn’t that important to them. I spoke to the gentleman this morning and he assured me that he was going to get in contact with the estimator and go over what I had discussed with him this morning. it was just kind of ironic that when I spoke to the gentleman this morning I explained that I was in a wheelchair and he said fine no problems, I’ll give you call back After I speak to the estimator in a little while. gave me a call back about an hour and a half later and said that they were not going to be able to except my repair job, I can only guess that the estimator didn’t see enough money being made here! it’s a shame but of course that is just (my own personal opinion and thoughts On this matter) I want to express that clearly that this is ONLY my opinion that maybe there was a little prejudice against me and/or it wasn’t a lucrative enough job, again just my opinion... this was my experience and I am only speaking from my point of view on this matter... I may be right, I may be wrong, but this is not the first time things like this have happened to...
Read moreDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! You have to pay them to fix their shoddy work!
I have been using this company a while now. Over the past few years, they have installed storm windows, replaced broken tracks and rescreened various windows on my house. All to my satisfaction. When I needed more work done, of course, I called them. My first red flag was the price quote. Over $600 to replace one track and rescreen two windows. I agreed to pay it because it was November and I needed this taken care of before winter set in. They came and did the work. In April, I went to open the windows and discovered that the screen in one of the windows had a hole in the corner of the frame and the spline had peeled back about 5 inches. I contacted Windowfix and they agreed to repair the screen. It is now August, and I just discovered the same problem with the second window they had re-screened back in November. This time when I contacted them, they said that would charge me to fix the screen and that I would have to bring the screen to them to be repaired. I agreed to bring the screen to them, but now they say for me to mail it to them. I would have to pay for shipping and the re-screening. They seem to have forgotten all of this is to fix their poor-quality work! Time to cut my losses and find someone that really wants...
