Los Tres Potrillos — Restaurant in New York

I am going to write my bad experience in Spanish as well below. También, voy a escribir en español mi mal experiencia aqui abajo.

I went to this place as a recommendation from my friend because she wanted to check it out. They offered outdoor seating now due to corona. Overall when we first arrived we just wanted drinks but after awhile of enjoying the music and atmosphere, we decided to order food, at this point we are there for a good while. I ordered the food in spanish with the woman with glasses at the bar instead of the waitress. Big mistake. I told her what me and my friend wanted. That is when the misunderstanding started, I asked for shrimp tacos and carne asada tacos for me. But the woman at the bar noted it as a platter which I was not aware of. Then back with the waitress, my friend decides she wants rice and refried beans also with her tacos, so she orders it. Food arrives, I don't see my carne asada tacos, I mentioned it and instead of realizing the error, the woman with glasses from the bar says I do not get my refund for the food because the platter comes with rice and refried beans and my friend was eating it. I told her my friend ordered herself rice and refried beans, we only received one order of it. The waitress confirms she took an order from my friend. The woman with the glasses begins looking around for a second tray of rice and refried beans, like we hid it. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ My friend paid for her food and they charged for her order of rice and refried beans. So there should have been two, this is not my fault. She was incredibly rude to me, even after I explain to her, she did not care what I had to say. There was sno manager to speak to either to clear it up. It ruined our mood and night. The waitress, she was done for the night but stayed and was just so sweet with us, she even offered to pay for my tacos when she did not have to. You should expect that from the person that took my order wrong. I will not be returning there and neither is my friend, if that is how they treat customers, be prepared to blamed and treated with carelessness. No wonder they have a low reviews with people like that woman running the bar. Be wary of her. Fui a este lugar por recomendación de mi amiga porque quería verlo. Ofrecían asientos al aire libre ahora debido a la corona. Luego, de regreso con la camarera, mi amiga decide que quiere arroz y frijoles refritos también con sus tacos, por lo que lo ordena. Llega la comida, no veo mis tacos de carne asada, lo mencioné y, en lugar de darme cuenta del error, la mujer con gafas del bar dice que no recibo mi reembolso por la comida porque el plato viene con arroz y frijoles refritos y mi amiga se lo estaba comiendo. Le dije que mi amiga se había pedido arroz y frijoles refritos, solo recibimos una orden. La camarera confirma que tomó una orden de mi amiga. La mujer de las gafas comienza a buscar una segunda bandeja de arroz y frijoles refritos, como si lo hubiéramos escondido. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ Mi amiga pagó por su comida y le cobraron por su pedido de arroz y frijoles refritos. Entonces debería haber habido dos, esto no es mi culpa. Ella fue increíblemente grosera conmigo, incluso después de explicárselo, no le importó lo que tenía que decir. No había un gerente sino alguien con quien hablar. Arruinó nuestro estado de ánimo y nuestra noche. La camarera, había terminado por la noche, pero se quedó y fue tan dulce con nosotros que incluso se ofreció a pagar mis tacos cuando no tenía que hacerlo. I am giving Los 3 Potrillos a 1 Star rating because of their blatant racism. I never liked to call a place races or utilized the race card but when it is needed I will use it. Before I can say it was racism let me tell you what happened and you can decide for yourself I stepped into the restaurant to get some food at 11:30 a.m. when I walked inside there was a Spanish customer sitting at the bar and was waiting for his food. I sat right next to him The workers didn't even acknowledge me I took a menu looked at it and waited to order,15 minutes went past and still not one of the four workers acknowledge me being there at 11:50 a family of four came inside the restaurant they were seated was given water a menu and then the waitress went to them and proceeded to take their order, meanwhile I am still sitting at the bar waiting for someone to take my order. As a 50 year old African American man I found that to be a slap in my face especially since the family of four was of Latin descent and they clearly came to the restaurant after me. Clearly the workers need to understand that you don't treat customers like that. I was appalled and disgusted with their actions there is never and I mean never any reason to treat anyone like this I'm sure with my whole heart if I was Spanish or Latin descent I would have been served and I think the worst part that this is I'm married to a Spanish woman so I know how to speak the language very well and I know when I'm being ignored. I hope that Los Tres Potrillos look at this review and understand that they lost a very good customer and a lot of business because I will make sure that I spread this word about how I...

Mi familia y yo vinimos aquí ayer, 22 de diciembre de 2023. Viajamos desde Staten Island a Brooklyn para comer tacos. Habíamos planeado una tarde para comer tacos, pero para nuestra sorpresa fue todo lo contrario. Entramos y nadie nos saludó. Estuvimos allí durante 2 o 3 minutos y nadie nos dio una mesa. Entonces decidimos sentarnos nosotros mismos, ya que tenemos un bebé y hacía mucho frío y estábamos parados junto a la puerta. La señora tardó 10 minutos en darnos un menú. Luego les tomó otros 25 minutos llegar finalmente a la mesa. Probablemente había entre 5 y 6 meseras y no estaban tan ocupadas. Nos ignoraban por completo y estaban platicando y riendo entre ellas. Cuando finalmente la mesera vino a nuestra mesa para tomar nuestro pedido, después de 25 minutos, preguntamos por qué se servía primero la otra mesa, mientras que nosotros llegamos antes que ellos. Ella simplemente dijo que “ ay pues que les puedo decir ,hoy nadie está de humor para ocuparse de las mesas” luego suspiró, como si fuéramos nosotros los que le estábamos haciendo perder el tiempo. Luego procede a decir “¿qué van a a querer comer?” con un mal actitud. Nunca había experimentado algo así. La mesera simplemente dijo que no están de humor para atender a la gente. No podía creerlo. Increíble. Pagamos gasolina y puente para venir aquí a comer un viernes por la noche y ella nos lo arruinó por completo. Luego salimos con un bebé en un clima de 15 grados. Increíble. Nunca más.

My family and I came here yesterday, Dec 22, 2023. We traveled from Staten Island to Brooklyn to eat tacos. We had planned a wonderful evening, but to our surprise it was the total opposite. We walked in and no one greeted us. We were standing there for 2-3 mins and no one gave us a table. We then decided to sit down ourselves, since we have a baby and it was extremely cold and we were standing by the door. It took them 10 mins for the lady to give us a menu. Then it took them another 25 mins to finally come up to the table. There was probably 5-6 waitress and they weren’t that busy. They were completely ignoring us and there were chatting and laughing with each other. When the waitress finally came to our table to take our order. When the waitress finally came to take our order after 25 mins, we asked why the other table was being served first, while we got there before them. She simply stated that no one there is in the mood to deal with tables today and rolled her eyes at us. Then she sighed, like we were the ones that are wasting her time. Then she proceeds to say “what do you want to eat with such a bad attitude” I have never experienced something like this ever. The waitress simply said they are not in the mood to serve people. I couldn’t believe it. Unbelievable and super unprofessional. We paid gas and toll to come here to eat on a Friday night and she completely ruined it for us. We then walked out with a baby in 15 degree weather. Unbelievable....
