UPDATE: My deposit was indeed returned after a considerable additional wait then the agreement states. In the end, my dissatisfaction with NYSF could have easily been resolved with clear communication from them. It's one thing to hold people's deposits for longer than the contract states. It's another thing to completely ignore their email requests as to the whereabouts of a rather larger amount of money. PREVIOUS: I rented space from the Studio Factory for nearly two years. I was an amazing tenant who was friendly with all of the staff and left my studio space in pristine condition. In the agreement it states that we are supposed to receive our deposit back after 60 days. I waited the 60 days and when it arrived I heard nothing. After contacting NYSF dozens of times by now, at most I receive a very vague and short email, but most often I get complete radio silence. It has now been over 120 days (double the amount of time in the contract) and I have yet to receive my deposit for the room or the keys. It is infuriating to be completely disrespected by the owner who completely ignores my emails and his head manage David who can barely manage a response via email. I wouldn't trust this place and I am sad that they have put this awful taste in my mouth for their business.
