Woodside Wine&Spirits — Local services in New York

Store has decent selection, especially for their size. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. They keep the store nice and tidy and the shelves well-stocked.

Prices are ggood for liquor (particularly for what I usually buy, though they seem reasonable for other things as well). Wine prices seem decent too, generally comparable to the nearby larger wine and liquor store. I would say the selection isn't large for wine, which is understandable given the size of the location and not intended as a criticism, but if you have a specific bottle in mind, check their website before you come. If you want to grab a bottle of liquor while out grocery shopping or some wine on your way to/from the train, this spot is perfect.

Walked in last week looking for a wine to pair with some burgers from Ottomanelli's around the corner and walked out with not only a recommended wine (which paired very well) but also what might have become my new favorite rum of all time, and I definitely never would've come across it if it weren't for the well thought out displays and variety available at this establishment with such competitive prices. I used to live nearby, and JC Wine & Spirits was by far the best spirits shop in the neighborhood. Now I live further away, and I've learned that they're probably second only to Astor Place Wines in all of NYC. The owner is super friendly, knows his stuff, and is eager to get you something new that you'll enjoy - even if it's not currently on the shelves. Prices are reasonable.
