I love the groceries at meijer. It is my home away from home and I love shopping at all of the Meijer stores in Lake and Cook County. However, tonight on August 4th, 2024 at about 11:15 p.m., I was in the self checkout at the Highland Indiana store and a sale price did not come up which I realized after I had already paid unfortunately. So, I started to talk to the foreign lady about it who was working in the self-scan area. She speaks with an accent. Well, she does NOT understand personal space or pick up on social cues. I was trying to discuss the receipt and she was standing right on top of me, literally 2 or 3 inches away. I would back up to get away from her to try to have a conversation at more of a distance and she would come right up close to me again. So I backed away again to stand at more of a distance and she came right back up super close to me again. She did this four times and I realized either she is doing this on purpose because she notices it's making me uncomfortable or she literally does not understand social cues at all and she certainly does not respect personal space. It was really frustrating and aggravating. Apparently she thinks everybody wants to stand super close to her, so close that you're almost touching skin. It's simply not the case. That was probably the most annoying encounter I've had in the last 4 years. Really hoping she learns the importance of respecting personal space and understanding that she does not have to stand right on top of everybody, shoulder to shoulder, in order to have a conversation.    Read more0 stars! Today my brother ordered groceries around 1:30 for us to pick up. Pickup time was 7-8 and we got there at 7:15 called in and gave our parking spot number for them to bring our order out. About 10 minutes later a lady came out and brought somebody elseâs order and came to our vehicle and stated âyour order wonât be ready for another hour unless we run into any hiccups, but I know you probably have other things going on tonight and we cannot come out of this door after 9 so if we need to we can hold your order till tomorrowâ she quickly turned around and walked off. We left and came back at 8:10 we called in and they said they were going to be preparing our order and be out shortly I went in at 8:50 and spoke with a âmanagerâ the same lady that told us the first time our order wouldnât be ready for a hour. She had a huge attitude slamming her hands on the counter and she said sheâs already been here 3 hrs after she should have been so she might as well stay longer and get my order out. We didnât receive our order till 9:30 I just donât understand if the order was made at 1:30 why wasnât it ready and what was the reason for an attitude? If anything I should have been upset but I guess people just donât like their jobs that much.    Read morePlaced an online order for diapers for my baby and was called that they could not fill my order during the pickup window I selected because they were short staffed. I informed the lady that if it wasn't ready during the time I selected, I would need to pick up the order the following day. So the following day, I went to pick up my order. I parked at the pickup location and entered my spot in the app. I waited 40 minutes, and no one ever came with my order. I went inside to customer service and said I had been waiting over 40 minutes. Then they told me it is my fault because I was supposed to call and not use the app because I was supposed to pick up my order the day before. It was not my fault I couldn't pick up the order the day before, plus I put my order in over 5 hours before my pickup window. It was the stores fault. They would not help me other than tell me they would tell their employees to be better at informing customers that they have to call if they can not pick up the order the day of. They just kept blaming me for something that I didn't know and was not told. None of their signs say this, and they all say use the app for faster service. It was also not my fault they missed my pickup windows. I canceled my order and will never shop at Meijer again. Don't bother trying to talk to a manager or corporate they do not care about...
