I’m sad. This used to be my family’s favorite fudge place for years and since there is new management … the quality has significantly decreased. I never EVER write reviews but I feel you need to know not to go here…. especially if you’re new to Wildwood. This has become nothing more but a tourist trap! I tried both Fudge Kitchen stores on the Wildwood boardwalk several times this summer and the fudge is consistently hard and stale… and the taste is way too sweet now. When I asked what was different (besides new management), I was told that although the fudge is made daily …it has to cool and is therefore usually sold two days later! TWO DAYS??? One time I specifically asked for a “soft piece” and I was given one….so what is going on? What’s the truth? Are they just selling two day old fudge? Are they selling hard and stale pieces first? Why should I have to ask for a fresh piece? For the amount of money they charge this fudge should be fresh daily!! My sister purchased fudge from Laura’s on the same day and three days later it’s still so soft and creamy. My vanilla sea salt fudge from Fudge Kitchen was hard the day I bought it with no creaminess at all …and one piece tasted like mint! Did they store old fudge with mint fudge and resell!? I had to throw it out… and I paid A LOT! Upon research I discovered that Fudge Kitchen is actually under new ownership. The two original founders (brothers) assured the public in their statement that the quality would be the same but it is NOT! Corners are obviously being cut for profit compromising freshness and quality. My family and I will no longer will goto Fudge Kitchen in Wildwood. The tradition is dead. Very very sad for the two owners who strived for excellence all those years. What a let down...

Read moreAfter a disappointing trip to Douglass Fudge in Wildwood. We walked down to Fudge Island. What a treat that they were open. The owner was present and very pleasant and assisted us in picking out what we needed. I see my oncologist again tomorrow and wanted to bring treats to the office staff. We were able to pick out, reasonably priced chocolate, fudge, and even popcorn. Everything was wrapped beautifully in Christmas paper. I was very happy that Douglass Fudge closed earlier than their posted time so we got to get the amazing service at Fudge Island...
