Geek Squad person from CT Cannot connect a printer to a computer correctly. I am a total member, and it isn't cheap, but I do not mind paying for it because to me it means peace of mind.
You still have to pay extra for them coming to your home and setting up your printer. I paid $85.00 and he still could not hook it up right. It isn't to fix the printer the printer is fine it is just to connect it to the desktop.
I told the person doing the job that they way he was connecting was done before it is the easiest way, but it doesn't work it will work for a few hours, and it will disconnect & I will not be able to scan first and next I will not be able to print or copy.
He said it is the only way he knows. So he only knows the wrong way that doesn't work. He did the way that stops working after a few successful scans, copies and prints.
The next day it did not work at all.
I am fed up with the lack of customer service from Geek Squad and the lack of competent people they hire at Geek Squad.
I don't mind paying for anything if it is worth it they charge you for not doing the job correctly and causing a lot of aggravation and wasting hours of your time. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY DO A LOT OF OUTSOURCING TO OTHER COUNTRIES AND THEY HAVE NO ACCOUNTABILITY AND A LOT OF THE PEOPLE THEY HIRE TO COME TO YOUR HOME DO THE VERY LEAST POSSIBLE AND THEY ARE LIMITED AS TO WHAT THEY KNOW. HIRE...
Read moreStay away. I normally don’t like to leave reviews. Less yet for corporations companies. But I feel responsable somehow to alert. Stay away. I brought in my Laptop to reinstall window and long story short, they erased 90% of my files and it was 3 years worth of designs and files and I told them very specifically to be careful with that information and that was signed on e original document when I left the laptop for this service. And after Many back and forwards they offered me to send it to corporation but this other company wanted me to pay out of my pocket to recover the info they lost. I had to agree afraid I lost so many hours of work (I lost in part what it wasn’t backed up in the cloud). This company returned my computer still with the missing information no one assumed responsibility for the lost information at the end and this service, that I pay for, ended up costing me so much money (they also kept my laptop for so so long I had to buy another one to keep working while I waited for this one to be returned. So, you can take your chances but I would suggest you don’t trust important information or material on this...
Read moreWe used Geek Squad for a second time (first time was good) and was very disappointed in the team at the Norwalk Best Buy. The woman who took the computer told me they would need 24 hours to do a diagnostic. I was forced to keep calling after not hearing from them (after calling 2x), I finally got some feedback on the computer. Each time I called I could tell the person was "annoyed" that I was wondering where my computer what at the time.
The manager got involved and while I do appreciate his efforts, the attitude of the team at this location was unprofessional. Apparently a diagnostic review is supposed to take 48-72 hours and the first woman should have never told me it was 24 hours (training issue…? Yes for sure).
Lastly, we got the computer fixed and got it back on day 6. Basic good communications could have avoided all this grief. I hope they get it...
