Arrived at 2:30 PM for lunch, I was alone. The waiter asked me "do you want to eat" and I interpreted that to as opposed to take out. But then he said, "do you want to eat alone" instead of sitting me down. The place was freezing, but I was hungry and therefore sat down to eat. For the next 7-8 minutes, he did not bring the menu or water and was nowhere to be seen. I shouted "excuse me" and a lady came out with her cell phone to her ears and gave me a menu. And then proceeded to the corner of the restaurant and chatted away loudly on her cell phone, in fact the entire time I was there. Loud, not showing any respect and not even getting up to ask if I needed anything, I ordered Mirch Ka Saalan and when it arrived it was presented nicely, accompanied by a bowl of rice. But the food was so salty that I could not continue to eat and decided to take the food home. The waiter was lazy, listening to his cell phone streaming Indian movie the entire time, and never once asked if I needed anything. I will never go there again and I ask other customers to complain about the service if bad. This place needs a new respectable...
Read moreBest tasting Indian food around, hands down!.. no questions asked!
But you have to be willing to put up with:
The service is less than the best (slow and misunderstand orders every time we go)
The bathroom is a disaster (urine on the seat, and lots of water all over the floor, going in right after resturant staff came out - incredibly nasty - my wife refuses to use the bathrooms here - having spent a lot of time in India, I pass this off as a cultural thing)
The kitchen opens and closes promptly (have been there and asked for another dish to take home 10-minutes before the official close time and was told no - some dishes are only available until they run out, and then they do not make more, meaning some food is pre-prepared)
The restaurant is maintained to the most basic level of cleanliness (food on long booth when sitting down, floor looks to be swept, but not washed, etc.)
It is very much on the pricy side - can get reasonably good Indian food in the area for half the cost. You are easily paying a 100% premium here.
If you can put up with these five things, I do not think you will be disappointed...
Read moreWorst customer service. Last night we had bad Dinner experience at this place. We ordered chicken soup, the waiter got a soup with full of fresh tomato pieces in it. We shared feedback and asked for proper chicken soup. Meanwhile they served chicken appetizer that was COLD. We almost finished our main course but soup never arrived. When we checked with the waiter Madhu, he was asking if we can take away the soup to HOME. It doesn't make sense at all. After long wait he served the soup that was a different version than before, it was very SOUR though. The TIMING of soup is totally unacceptable. We asked for a soup not a dessert. I didn't wanted to cancel the order at this point, so we had some of it. I requested the waiter if he can discount 1 of 2 soups due to delayed timing and not so good taste, waiter MADHU started screaming at me. Very BAD and unacceptable attitude and language of MADHU. It requires proper timing and good customer service for such EXPENSIVE priced food. I cant compare this bad service to any other American fast food or restaurant chains. We decided NEVER to go back...
