Pop Cult — Local services in Oak Ridge

I generally give any asian novelty store a chance before I make an opinion. There are those who are making an honest living and bringing products to the fans. I've seen friends who worked as voice actors, directors, producers recieve less work because I've seen how piracy has destroyed an industry of entertainment. I always try to check legit products.

The staff was friendly, saying their hellos, making sure if I was okay and offering any assistance I needed. The basics of any customer service a store should provide. They just moved into the space formally occupied by Hot Topic. It's lined Japanese novelty, swords, weapons, plushies, pop figures, figures, statues and the sort.

I have found a low quality Figma Racing Miku 2013 Mirai Ver. and Nendoroid Cardcaptor Saurka. Yes the figma figure was $35 and Nendoroid was $30, versus $70 and, $100 respectively found in the market brand new unopened. They were not offically licenced nor authentic. Even the packaging was subpar. Thank you for stealing from Good Smile, Good Smile Racing, Max Factory, Miasaki Aspy, Cryptic Future Media, CLAMP, every single factory worker, hand painter and just too many to name. I'm sure they all appriciated the thought of you taking money away from them.

If they sell fakes, I disregard their store. DO NOT SUPPORT BOOTLEGGERS!!!! The only way they could get their star rating raised is if they got rid of the fakes.

Update 5/22/2018 They don't allow photos in the store and they are still sell bootleg products. Some of the stuff that looks legit, they put scotch tape on boxes and there was no factory seals. Still keeping my...

I walked in for 3 seconds and IMMEDIATELY found what I wanted. Been looking for a Red Astray Gundam kit so I can try building my first kit with gundams. Not a bad price at all with the tools and stand I needed! Plus the staff I met was REALLY nice! I'll definitely come back sometime once i finish this gundam! 😁

Edit: AGAIN I bought the sengoku astray once my red astray was built and was helped out yet again! The staff at pop cult are yet again friendly. I even just bought the Turn Red Astray model and I was able to meet the store manager. VERY chill guy and friendly! I will always come here for my gundam kits locally. I love Gunpla, and was really excited with their selection. Prices were high, but that wasn't even the problem. As others have pointed out, staff here was just SO rude. I have a loyalty card for spending $150 from the Brandon location, but they wouldn't accept it because "the employee didn't sign it". I told them I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the 2 items I was holding, as my reason for coming here was to use the card. I was rushed to make a decision and was treated like an idiot for not knowing the card needed to be signed, even though I've never had an issue at the other location.
