1/5/2024 - This will be the last update giving an overall assessment of the apartments. We have officially moved out to our new place which is 180 degrees different than the Old market Lofts. Our new place management is supremely better and more competent. Old Market Lofts issues stem from poor management, no maintenance and upkeep. If you want maintenance issues unaddressed, broken elevators, rude management, dog poop smeared on floors and elevators, horrible smoking/vape smells, dog poop minefields on walk ways and terrible parking... this is the place for you. You get what you pay for, literally. Best of luck to everyone that signs a lease for this place.
12/26/2023 - 5 months past now with no working clothes washer, and we have given notice that we are not renewing the lease. Who would with the way this place treats it's tennants. Merry Christmas to us to be moving out of this dump. To all the people that wish to rent here, you get what you pay for. This is a lesson on cheaping out on where to live.
10/23/2023 - 3 months past and clothes washer still hasn't been fixed, and shady management just deletes workorders with no updates or timeline for repair. Both elevators have been constantly broken and not working either. This is the worst place I have ever rented at, and this is from renting in multiple states.
Current resident and this place is literally falling apart. Don't rent here or at any of the sister properties. Management doesn't fix any issues. Broken elevators constantly, broken amenities to work orders that don't get fixed at all. It took a city housing complaint and threat of condemning just to get a reoccurring drain clog issue fixed.
The clothes washer had been broken for over 2 months with workorderticketst submitted and not even a visit by maintenance. Management is just useless trying to get even minor issues solved. They have time to reply to the post here but didn't get anything fixed. Sheetrock falling from ceilings in common areas. Dingy Old stained walkway carpeting.
Had an Amazon hub locker on site that's broken with packages stuck inside that residences can't get important mail from. If the machines aren't working, unload the packages out of the machine. Then turn it off so it can't be used until fixed. Nop, they just keep it posted on so more mail can be loaded into i, and no codes sent to get your deliveries. It would be better to just have a room where all packages for residences to get them. Critical thinking is not hard. This place deserves to be condemne, and Elevated Living needs to be black listed from having rental properties as they are such a terrible company management company. Run from renting from any property managed by them.
One maintenance man to cover multiple properties is the common management excuse as to why things don't get fixed. Why do you have one maintenance staff for multiple properties. I will be reporting them to the DOD so that military service members are instructed not to rent here and to be blacklisted for being poor quality and substandard. I will also be sending letters out to veteran organizations, state representatives, and statecongressmenn on why this is being tolerated and that property companies need to be held accountable. The fire system constantly malfunctions, and as others pointed out, the constantly failing elevators is a common theme. With buildings that have 9 floors, you will be taking the stairs to get to your apartment. The stairwells have broken light fixtures, missing floor number plates, and it looks like they are never cleaned.
They send canned email responses just to send you on your way with no tangible response, and they don't answer the phone or return calls at all. Don't rent here if you are in...
Read moreTo start off, I have never written a review in my entire life, let alone a bad review. That should tell you how fed up I am with Elevate Living. And I do want to preface that all the people working in the office have been very nice, yet still are not capable of solving any issues.
I have been living in the Old Market lofts since June 2022. The units are gorgeous and the location is perfect, which is still true. However, the management my entire stay has been atrocious. If you have any maintenance issues, they will not be fixed unless it poses a serous threat to the building. Only a few examples of my experience include: The ceiling fan in the living room has been broken since I moved in, which has been "looked at" multiple times and would be extremely helpful in these triple digit heat waves. Hasn't been fixed more than 14 months later. One of the showers drips so constantly and loudly that it keeps my roommate up at night. This also has been "looked at" multiple times and they say the same thing - "We need to order parts and will be back to fix it." They never do. We have even gotten at least 3 notices that our floor has had excessive water usage and that all drains and showers would be inspected to fix any leaks and our shower still hasn't been touched. The last time they fixed anything was one of my broken doors, only because we were notified that there was a possible HUD inspection that week. I received a letter in the mail (not email) telling me if I renew my lease by a certain early date I would receive a discounted rent. However, The letter was postmarked on the previous Friday and the due date was Monday night, the night I got the letter after work. I had no advanced notice to receive their offer and was not notified any other way besides this super late snail mail. There are 4 elevators in my building and at least 2 of the four are broken more than they have worked since I've lived here - usually 2 in the same part of the building. Due to this, the building is not very accessible for individuals in need of ADA accommodations so I would advise against living her for anyone with those needs.
I've called 12 times (12!! I've checked my phone records!) and stopped in person at least 4 times (only counting the times there were actually staff there to help me) to get them to fix these examples and more. They give me the same excuse every time - "We only have 1 maintenance man for multiple of our buildings so he will get to you when he can. Please be patient and we will have him out shortly." I've even spoken to the manager twice and received a promise of maintenance the next days, which never happened. I understand that my issues are not emergency situations and I have been lucky they aren't worse. However, there is no excuse for a building and a company this large to ignore the basic maintenance needs of their tenants for OVER A YEAR, especially for how much we are paying to live here.
In summary, I highly advise anyone looking at this building to think twice before signing anything. You may be lucky and get a unit with no issues. But if you're not, you'll be stuck in a broken unit with no attempt to fix any of the problems. And to any Elevate Living/Old Market Lofts "Manager" or "Owner" commenting on this, I will not be contacting anyone "regarding my issues to give feedback" as I have perpetually done so for over a year. If you actually cared, you would look me up and take care of all of my outstanding maintenance requests without further excuses or...

The Old Market Lofts that Elevate Living (EL) manage are gorgeous, however my issue resides with the leasing office and how they conduct business, in particular their portfolio manager Kelly. I would never hire Kelly to be the face of, or represent, any of my business operations. She is unprofessional to say the least, unskilled at dealing with people and basic business transactions. She was unpleasant and condescending in our initial dealing.
I entered Omaha July 2022. I placed a $340 deposit on a unit I was interested in. If I changed my mind, I was promised a refund of $300, and contractually had 30 days to decide. Within 24 hours, I cancelled this hold and conducted the paperwork to obtain my refund. Likewise, upon cancelling the hold, I immediately sold this unit for EL to a friend.
When the refund cheque arrived it was $40 short. EL issued a refund of $260 instead of $300. I contacted the leasing office to rectify this discrepancy and they were dismissive and unhelpful. Notably, the leasing office allows their phone to ring indefinitely, with no intention of answering.
Since they ignored my phone calls for one month, I decided to personally visit the office. This was the first time I met with Kelly as she was the only one who had authority to issue a refund. Her demeanor was unpleasant and accusatory. She stated that she needed to investigate the matter and had no time to look into it today. In fact, Kelly never looked into the matter at all.
Couple of weeks passed, I reached out for a follow up and was met with incompetency via telephone. Thus, I showed up in person for a second time. I called ahead to assure Kelly was in attendance and knew that I was coming in. Kelly chose to avoid me, in fact she left the building during my appointment time, and instructed her staff to relay that she went on tour and would not be returning.
Months have transpired, I made a third and final visit to the leasing office, but this time I did not warn Kelly. I arrived in the morning and Kelly hid in her office in plain sight. She was sitting at her desk alone. She had her staff relay that she was busy and could not speak with me at any point throughout the day.
In conclusion, Kelly and I never communicated after our initial meet. She never investigated my issue nor followed up. This department head ducked and dodged while hiding behind her staff. Consequently, my minor $40 discrepancy dragged out, and it has now been one calendar year. My money was never returned.
Overall, I dodged a bullet by not signing a lease with EL. Again, the lofts & apartments are gorgeous, but I cannot imagine being contractually bound to the Omaha management team.
MY MESSAGE AND FINAL WORDS TO ELEVATE LIVING:
If you would like my honest & transparent review to be removed, then I require a full refund of $80 plus interest. A refund of the partial $40 that I was originally seeking will no longer suffice. An acknowledgement from head office that you do not condone nor participate in this type of fraudulent and unprofessional conduct.
I attempted to reach out to head office to remedy this discrepancy in private, but your head office is unreachable. Likewise, your Omaha office is incompetent and unprofessional. An official audit of your Omaha location is in...
