I recently visited this store, and unfortunately, I did not have a great experience. The store reminded me of a North Korean storefront. The clothes were made of weird materials and had designs that looked like they were from some dystopian future. They had a few interesting long-sleeve and heavier shirts, but I'm in Florida during the summerâI don't need winter wear.
When I came into the store, the guy seemed more interested in fixing the rack than in helping me. He asked in a sheepish way if I needed help, and I said I was just looking. When I did ask for his help, he did not come over and barely looked up from what he was doing. When someone is interested in asking you a question about an item, size, or fitment, you probably should come over and see what you can do for them rather than continuing to hang outfits.
The store just had a very odd feel to it. They seem to be going for a modern touch, but the impression I got was more of an unapproachable touch. The cut and fitment of their clothes are not in sync with what you would get elsewhere. I felt uncomfortable and left. I would have been an easy sale as I was just looking for a couple of golf shirts. There were only two other customers in the store, a couple, and only one of them was really shopping for anything.
Despite its size, the store's layout is not inviting and does not make customers feel comfortable. Instead of focusing on vast, open spaces and clean lines, the store should create a welcoming atmosphere that showcases how great customers could look in the clothes they are selling. Overall, the experience was just odd...
Read moreI was at the Lewisville, TX store last night (Monday, Dec. 22). It was your usual DXL customer service experience, but the reason for my low ratingis because we are in the middle of a pandemic with cases exploding in this area, and the supervisor and staff allowed a customer to come in the store unmasked. Texas has a state-wide mask mandate, and this particular customer was allowed to come into the store unmasked and talking boisterously all throughout the store and at the cash register, where every customer in line behind him had to encounter his droplets. It is the DXL's responsibility to ensure that they are in compliance with the mandate AND that customers have a safe shopping experience. It's disappointing that their sales goal took precedence over their customers' safety, but their decision will definitely inform my decision to shop with them...
Read moreThere are DXLs near me, in MA. I know the store well. Pretty consistent quality across the board. Needed a belt for a suit, and walked out with two pairs of Lucky Brand jeans, as well. I have lost a bit of weight recently and snagged the next to last sizes of 38 and 40 waist jeans at the store. So weird to go in there and not have jeans fit me in their standard starting sizes.
It can be a little daunting for some, but Cameron (Sales clerk) seemed pretty competent and was nicely personable. Nice to have a pleasant experience...
