The people actually working at the hotel were fantastic, especially Rasel, that worked for maintenance. He was very friendly and was happy to explain and help. Which. Brings to another couple of issues. The pool is frequently closed. Many of the times there had not been rain or even a cloud above and it was closed. The front desk was busy so I asked the "Concierge". About when the pool would be back open. He immediately dismissed the question and referred me to the front desk, in a very dismissive manner implying that he was too busy, while scrolling his computer screen and not attending any guests. After waiting and he continuing to scroll his phone and computer, I asked if he just had an estimate. He said that he was the concierge and thats a desk question, with more attitude. Which did make me mad. I will admit. I left and then came back again after no checking radar to see still nothing, while its closed still for weather in the area. Customer service is not a strong point with the front office. I asked how its decided and he escalated and so did I, quickly conceding because I didnt want to allow such a person, who should be there to ensure a good trip to ruin it. Within 5 min it was open again, which would have been an easy check with maintenence as I later found out. The second closing had the manager and maintenence come out to close it. They were both apologetic and quickly explained that it is based on Weatherbug, in 30 min intervals. If lightning strikes within 10 miles they have to close. He also encouraged us to get the app and check, noting that sometimes they get busy and forget to check. If there hasn't been any close by, call the front or stop by and let them know so they can confirm and open it. When going back to the desk the concierge was again rude when I asked them to call and check. The lady at the desk did do so, and they were right out to open it. At this time, I would not recommend it, because it is such a mixed basket regarding service. There are better places around that are welcoming and want you to have a...
Read moreThis experience was absolutely horrible... From the time we got here on Tuesday morning at about 12:15am. No one bothered to inform us that because the property does not have 24-hour service, a security guard would have to check us in, yes a copy of my husband’s driver’s license and credit card was copied and given to the security guard, that brought in through a back alley. We muddled pass all of that, called the next day to express our concerns to customer service at Bluegreen, was given an apology and was told that they would inquire about after hour check in procedures at that property.
Today as my husband is sitting on the patio, on the 3rd floor, listening to Noel Jones preaching, this Caucasian fellow yells up and ask him to turn his music down. Being floored by the request, because first off, he wasn’t playing music, he asked the gentleman who he was; he identified himself as the general manager, Phillip Larry. After a brief exchange, about each persons view on the noise level, we brought our other concerns to “general manager”, i.e. the after hours “check-in” process.
Shortly after our conversation, I noticed this dude casing the sidewalk so I actually went downstairs just to see what one could actually hear. Over the cars honking, and passing by, the helicopter flying over, the trees whistling, there was NO WAY Noel Jones’s preaching was a nuisance. He over heard me on the phone, requesting to speak with a regional manager, expressing my concerns about what I believe is RACIALLY MOTIVATED HARASSMENT! And tell me, “Oh... I would be happy to talk to you!”
Literally as I’m typing this post, I just got a call from the front desk to tell that I have a balance of $46 and some cents, that apparently the SECURITY GUARD that checked me in WROTE DOWN the wrong credit card number....
Read moreMy family and I spent the weekend at The Sunshine hotel (I refuse to label this a resort) for a couple’s weekend trip. The caveat being that we had to sit through a timeshare presentation with Bluegreen Resorts of course. The hotel was cool. It was located right in the middle of everything. It was close to everything amusement parks, attractions, food/restaurants. Great location. However, the hotel itself was very underwhelming compared to its sister resort, The Fountains resort (which I initially thought we were staying at—and was excited about because that place is gorgeous and gives a more modern, luxurious resort vibe). We had to check in at the Fountains to check in and schedule our presentation/tour. The tour of their Presidential Suite was BEAUTIFUL! Truly a breathtaking space. However the Sunshine Hotel is just okay. It is dated, the tv’s are very old fashioned (not a smart tv), there is a weird soaking tub in the middle of the main bedroom suite —which just felt more dated. There is no complementary breakfast, no bar, only one pool and a jacuzzi (The Fountains Resort) has several pools/lazy pool, a bar area, places to eat there, stunning views, modern features etc.). Don’t get me wrong, this hotel is okay. Not the worse at all but if we are talking about a resort, this does not meet the standard. Even just the aesthetic and parking is disappointing compared to the Fountain’s resort. But the service was good. Everyone was nice and polite. The room was spacious. The enclosed balcony (great feature) was so nice. The location was excellent. I just think if you are looking for more of a luxurious, resort vibe, go to the Fountains Resort in Orlando (Bluegreen Vacations Fountains) about 10-15 minutes away. This place is a good hotel, just not...
