James Food Center — Local services in Oxford

This is a very racist and prejudice establishment. I went in to get gas on a rainy day and the clerk told me to take my hood off and when I asked why he was very vague and dismissive of my complain. I stood my ground and we went back and forth but I paid for my gas and left out t(I’m a dark skin black man). Today I went in there again and it is somewhat chilly outside and I was going to get gas and walk right out and he again told me to take my hood off and I said excuse me and he said it again and I said why he and said because that’s not what “we” do. I said I’m simply trying to get gas and leave and he told me to get out which I did gladly but this is not right nor ok and it shouldn’t be allowed. Best place for miles around today to purchase fuel. Other stations were charging $3.15/gallon on average. Today, it was only $2.99/gallon here.

Pump islands were clean, and the pumps were modern looking.

The downside is that I had to go in the store to get a receipt for the gas. The printer at the pump was no doubt out of paper. The store itself is rather dank and yucky looking with big thick sheets of plexiglass looking material that separate you from the cashiers.
