“Luxury? More like elitism.”

I walked into Marissa Collections in Palm Beach with a girlfriend, excited to shop. Instead of being welcomed, we were shadowed upstairs by a sales associate who never greeted us and simply watched. We left for lunch planning to return and purchase dresses.

When we came back, the contrast was hard to ignore: another customer walked in after us and was immediately greeted, offered champagne, and given attentive service—while we were treated as invisible. The message was loud and clear: if you don’t “look the part,” you don’t matter here.

To make matters worse, once I mentioned I had a large gift certificate from my husband, the staff backed off completely, realizing they wouldn’t earn commission. That kind of behavior is not only tacky, it’s grotesque for a boutique that brands itself as “luxury.”

I’ll use the gift certificate online to avoid dealing with these people. Thankfully, the plaza has many other boutiques that value their customers—I’ll happily spend my time and money with them instead. Judging by the other reviews, I’m far from the only one who has noticed this...

Called said our daughter was turning five (in few months ) and wanted to book appointment - they said 10 and under go on website and book, both parents or ID. Did so. Showed up - daughter super excited, said they don’t do under five, disclaimer buried on website confirms that. Crying kid, so avoidable If call rep could handled or the disclaimer wasn’t buried. Lost customer for life and likely more as we share bad experience. And just opened. No exceptions to this policy, I’ve found no exceptions or solutions or cooperation to be a short term bad business decision.

As far as how we were told no, it was almost with mock and power trip condescion which was surprising given all the parent groups saying nice things, and how hurt our daughter clearly...

My wife and I had an appointment with the piercing specialist at the store. It was my first time getting a piercing and my wife was getting a new piercing too. The store is beautiful and the selection of piercing jewelry is exceptionally stylish. Don't let the Palm Beach address intimidate you... Danny was amazing to work with and very welcoming. Her professional credentials are what sold us on her services. The piercing studio was very clean and comfortable. She walked us through every step of the piercings and made sure to tell us what was happening as she did the piercing. We would definitely go...
