At approximately 10:25am on Saturday 23 September 2017, my husband, daughter, and I walked into Saks Fifth Avenue from the garage elevator side. I was intent on buying makeup since I was running out and was looking to stop at the Lancôme counter. Upon entry into the makeup section, sales associates in the area refused to acknowledge our presence.
While we stood in front of the Lancôme section for 5+ minutes, a sales associate named Jillian glared at us and didn't assist us. My husband called out to her, and she said absolutely nothing. It was clear we were not wanted there.
It wasn't until a sales associate, Erica, came around and asked Jillian if she wanted to help us. Jillian looked in our direction, rolled her eyes, and turned away, making it even more obvious that we were not welcome in this store.
Erica apologized for how we were treated, stating that she was an actual Lancôme sales associate who would help us, and not the associate that refused to help us. Instead of spending my usual $200 on a makeup stop, I just paid for foundation ($50) so we could leave. The obvious tension in the area was so uncomfortable. We, instead, ended up spending about $600 at Macy's as a result.
Jillian refused us service, an interracial couple with a child, which was humiliating and quite infuriating. Jillian is reportedly not a Lancôme employee, but if she is in fact a Saks employee. this company should be ashamed of such unprofessional and bigoted behavior. She is there as an empployee to assist customers, not as a gatekeeper to oust diverse families and...
Read moreI came here on the whim to check out their alterations department. I was a bit lost since it was my first time but thankfully I ran into Victor. He guided me to the store and showed me where to go for the my appointment. I had brought in a Mac Duggal gown I purchased online a couple months ago and needed help getting it altered. But with the intricate detailing and beading of the dress, I knew I needed the experts’ help. After all, I would be wearing this gown for a very special occasion. After letting Victor know what I needed, he assisted me right away and spoke with his team. Soon after, he walked me into a private room so I could put my dress on and have the seamster take a look. I was introduced to Anselmo and he immediately got to work. We discussed which length would be appropriate and how long it would take him to complete the task. His mannerisms and professionalism was top tier —you can easily tell he’s been doing this for years. My experience here at this Saks location was definitely one-of-kind, and it wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the kindness of its staff. Thank you Victor and Anselmo for caring about your customers and for making my day! I can’t wait to wear my dress for my...
Read moreI'm reviewing strictly on Michael DeLeo and his Watchmaker Service and Repair shop located in Saks Fifth Avenue. I was "Marie Kondo"ing the master closet and I came across a vintage Gucci watch my mother gave me many many moons ago when I was a teen. It wasn't working but it sparked so much 'joy' for me that when I found it, I had to get it fixed.
I found Michael Deleo's shop via Yelp and headed to Saks Fifth Avenue where his watch service and repair shop is located. He was very friendly and was very familiar with the watch. Within minutes he took it apart and showed me unfortunately that acid leaked out of the battery and ruined the watch motor. His knowledge and skill set was evident immediately. He called Gucci to get me a quote on a replacement battery. I agreed on the total price and was given a claim ticket.
One week later the motor arrived and the next day the watch was ready for pick up. Michael replaced the motor and battery, cleaned and polished the whole watch and ensured that it was water sealed properly. We talked about the watch and his passion in his work is obvious. Michael works on all types of watches and feel secure knowing that if he is servicing your watch you're in great...
