This is my second favorite chocolatier in Vegas. While it stands on equal ground with my first favorite as far as quality and creativity, I put it second simply because it is a chain while my first choice is local to Vegas. That be by said, this place is amazing.
I almost didn't recognize this place as a chocolatier the first few times I passed it. It wasn't until my husband noticed Chocolate samples sitting out that the world stopped and everything became clear. They always have samples out of my be of their Nama chocolates, which is probably what they're really known for. These are thick little squares of chocolate that need to be refrigerated at all times because they are soft like the inside of a truffle. So, yes. They literally melt in your mouth. Most of these come with some kind of alcohol in them (all but one actually). There's a few milks, a few darks, a hazelnut, a white chocolate and a Matcha. Every one I've tried has been delicious! And none of them taste overly alcoholic.
However, if you're looking for a stronger alcoholic flavor, I would recommend the truffles. (There is one non-alcoholic - hazelnut.) There's a cherry and and an orange.
They also offer bar chocolates with raisins that have been soaked in alcohol. I quite enjoyed the champagne and the rum. Both were mild and sweet.
Some other (non-alcoholic) unique treats include
chocolate covered potato Chips - Only dipped on one side. Comes in milk, dark, white fromage and caramel.
Chocolate dipped cookies
Chocolate popcorn
Chocolate coffee Marshmallows (yum!)
Chocolate Covered Almonds (surprisingly mediocre)
Fruit Bars - white chocolate with strawberry or matcha. Both are sweet, but not too sweet and have little krispies inside.
Lastly, I don't know what they're called, but they're balls of potato chip and cookie crumbs covered in chocolate. Yup. Pretty yummy.
So this place is on the pricey side - $18 for a box of Nama with maybe 12 pieces? But it's so good! And even better? You can ask to sample ANYTHING in the store. The service has always been friendly and accompanying....
Read moreWe were warmly greeted upon arriving at the store by MJ, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She walked us through the catalog and seasonal specials and generously offered us samples of various flavors. We learned that this is the only ROYCE location in Vegas, and the seasonal specials are exclusively available in stores, so we focused on trying those.
I had the Matcha Nama Chocolate years ago, but ROYCE has many other fantastic options. This time, I bought the Oolong Tea Nama Chocolate, which was so good that even my husband, who's not usually a fan of sweets, loved it. The Hakutou (white peach & apple) would have been my second choice. What I love about the Nama Chocolate is that it's not overly sweet, allowing the flavor to really shine. At $19.99 per box, it makes for a great gift. They also package the chocolates in insulated cooler bags to keep them from melting--such a thoughtful touch!
In addition to the Nama Chocolates, ROYCE offers a wide range of items like cookies, chips, truffles, chocolate bars, and more, so there's something...
Read moreMJ & two other Sales persons behind the counter were just too preoccupied talking to each other & did not bother to approach and assist me with my queries & concerns. I was the only Customer, the least they could have done was help me figure out all thise chocolates to choose from rather than just sharing nonesense chatter in the workplace. The three of them altogether forced to fit eight (8) boxes of chocolates in a tiny bag. As I requested & suggested that they should package two set of boxes of four (cause four of the boxes were to be given as a gift) on separate insulated bags, but they rudely & adamantly said “NO” & insisted that it’s just not possible. The Audacity!! 😞😏It does not take a Rocket scientist to figure out that their logic does not make sense! Asinine! Your small store is truly wasting money paying salaries to these Idiots that does not know basic Customer Service. None of them even bothered to look me in the eye nor express a smile…not once! ...
