Grand Lux Cafe — Restaurant in Paradise

This place is a total gem! As a solo diner, I sometimes feel a little awkward taking up a whole table, but here, I was treated like royalty. The moment I walked in, a friendly male host greeted me, followed by a warm welcome from a female host (sorry, I forget their names!). They truly rolled out the red carpet – it felt like they were genuinely happy I chose their restaurant. Even the person who brought my food over was incredibly hospitable.

Now, let's get to the main event: the food! Buckle up, because the burger I had was, hands down, the BEST EVER!! I'm talking juicy, smoky, and amazingly huge. And that honey-mustard dipping sauce? Just go for it!! It's pure magic. Ask for extra, even if you're not having the burger – you won't regret it. Now, for the pièce de résistance: the Warm Brownie Sundae. It’s amazing, but heads up, it’s a behemoth best tackled with company, or if you’re brave, solo with a box to go. It’s not officially a sharing dessert, but its size begs to differ.

My server, Jake, was fantastic. He kept my drinks topped up, checked in at just the right moments, and never made me feel rushed.

Full disclosure: To be completely transparent, I did notice a couple of tables nearby having some delays with a different server. It seemed their waiter wasn't as attentive, and other staff members had to step in occasionally. That made me feel for them, especially since their food took quite a while to arrive. One couple even decided to leave, which was unfortunate. However, this appeared to be an isolated situation. Everyone else, myself included, had a fantastic experience. My food came out quickly, and the service around me was seamless. It's possible that the server was simply having an off night. Hopefully, management can address any hiccups, because this place is a real gem and deserves the best reputation!

All in for under $100 max: Epic eats, overflowing drinks, a sparkling ginger ale, and a 30% tip—because when service is this legendary, my tip's trying to match the vibe! Speaking of the good, I was seated at table 134 around 10pm, and I couldn't help but notice how clean the entire restaurant was. It added to the overall great vibe. I usually love this place but, had an awful experience at the bar yesterday. Working at a trade show in the Venetian, I wanted to get my lunch taken care of in a timely fashion so, I could eat and get back to my booth fast. Time is money of course so, I knew what I wanted before I walked in.

I ordered the Pasta Pomodoro from the Bartender Matt and, ordered it Gluten Free and with NO Cheese.

The first time the food came out, they brought out the dish with regular pasta, not Gluten Free pasta. So, the dish had to go back. That was about 25 to 30 minutes wasted waiting for the wrong dish.

The second time the food came out, the pasta was correct but, this time, there was Cheese in it!!!

So, they brought the food out incorrectly twice! This never happened to me while dining out ever! Usually, places get it right after the first mistake but, these two mistakes left me extremely hungry but, worse off, just disappointed in a place that I usually rave about.

The Manager Alonso came out and said I wouldn’t have to pay for anything and, I thought that was obvious. Isn’t that obvious? There’s no shot I’m paying for any of it and I didn’t.

It was my feeling, along with other patrons sitting next to me that Alonso should have given me a gift card for wasting my time and leaving me hungry and dissatisfied. He did not. I told him that I may have to leave this review and, he said it was my choice. Well, I don’t like doing these things but he forced my hand.

2. write down orders instead of relying on memory
3. show more courtesy when an order is screwed up not...
