Vivant Fine Cheese — Local services in Paso Robles

I originally learned of Vivant through the cheese pairings at Jada Vineyards where I'm a member of the wine club. I never fail to add the cheese pairing when I'm at Jada for a wine tasting and club pickup. Last Thanksgiving I stayed in Paso for the week, and I decided to try Vivant's store on Pine for a cheese sampler plate (stupendous regardless of what cheeses they have rotated onto the plate). I also tried their fig and prosciutto panini with the optional caramelized onions. It was such a taste of Heaven that when I visited Jada yesterday for my wine pickup with my daughter, I had to share the joy of that panini with her. It was every bit as heavenly as I remembered, and my daughter agreed.

All week, I’ve been fantasizing about getting another bottle of Shale Oak Winery’s superb 2015 Mercurey Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. To complement it, I added an Italian Panni (Mortadella, pistachios, Muenster, Greek olive tapenade, roasted red peppers, Dukes mayo) and a Turkey sandwich (roasted turkey, creamy havarti, pesto mayo) from Vivant Fine Cheese shop. Great little cheese shop that has all you need for a day of wine tasting.

PRO TIP: Do not go wine tasting without some munchies! Your tummy (and your head) will appreciate it. Plus it's fun to pair the wine with what you brought.

Check in on Yelp and you will recieve a free cheese tasting ($5 value). However, we went for the full wine & cheese tasting and they were able to take $5 off of the bill! Wonderful customer service.

The red wine & cheese paring was fabulous. I loved every cheese on that flight. I ended up buying every cheese on that pairing but the first one.
