Iām sure the employees are alright but I Just have to express how much I HATE this new location. I walked in and immediately walked out. as someone who was born and raised in this area, the old location held some of my fondest childhood memories. It was warm and inviting and it always smelled like Coffee. My mother and I would spend hours reading at the coffee shop tables and just enjoying the overall ambiance. That old location meant a lot to me. The fact that the company would so willingly trade such a community staple for this cold, dead new location is beyond me. The light wood shelves remind you too much of the previous tenants (a religion based book store, which personally is my worst nightmare). Thereās no coffee shop. Thereās hardly anywhere to sit and enjoy while you shop for books. Itās horrific, to be quite frank. I absolutely hate this location and Iām so disappointed in Barnes and Noble because clearly they donāt care about the community of loyal natives that frequented the old location. It looks like a mediocre pop up shop in comparison. From a long time loyal customer, I wonāt be returning and as far as Iām concerned, the closest Barnes and noble is the one in surprise because this location is absolutely dead to me. I donāt see a very successful career for your brand at this location which is exactly what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is amazing! I don't even have to pick up my phone to read a book. They have books without screensāI'm serious! These are books that have paper and it feels wonderful. I don't need to swipe-left to turn the page, I can just use my fingers to lift one page on the right and pull it (gently) to the left. It's like a new invention or something. I could see this replacing screens one day! This is the future!! š
They also have a whole bunch of other fun stuff at the front that catches my eyes and I ended up giving them more of my money impulsively without thinking it through. It's helpful for Barnes & Noble if I bring my small kids. My kids encourage me to open my wallet bigger when we are standing in lineādigital wallet, of course, because who actually likes sitting on a huge lump in their back pocket? I wonder if this impulsive buying-thing next to the cashier line is all by design? šš¤
You know what? I could see money becoming paper one day, too! Imagine a world where people carried around paper money the way they do with paper books. I think I'm making a prediction for the future! Distracting non-paper screens will be a thing of the past for reading books and even carrying money around to buy things.šā¤ļø
I bet you they'll even come up with cameras that aren't attached to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a frequent shopper at Barns & Noble. This store on Bell is the smaller version of Barns & Noble. There is no in-store Starbucks coffee and seating area, but it has a newer look and modern decor. You can tell itās newly renovated from the carpet and ceiling. There is bathroom on the end of the store with a good hygiene and clean standard.
Plenty of book options for each category. It certainly carry less books than a regular and classic B&N store, but they did good job to select the trendy books on shelf. I had the membership to get 10% discount.
A new reward card /program now is available without any additional cost to accumulate your spending for a $5 off after reaching 10 stamps ($100). The feature will connect with your existing membership after you opt-in at the checkout.
Canāt believe the competition history of B& N battle with Amazon starting more than 10 years ago is all over. Guess what! B & N is the winner after seeing Amazon physical stores opened and closed over the years. You still can find Barns & Noble in any big cities with crowded people on the weekend and holidays. Good news for people who loves...
