I had the most humiliating experience today that made me cry while my co-worker was in the car. At checkout today, the cashier stated that she will help ring me up and I stated that I did not need any help. She proceeds to point at the sign above the register and read it to me that states an associate will ring up customers. I said oh okay. She states that it's a new policy. So I proceed to remove my personal items out and place them on the pop machine to the left of me so she can scan after my order for my school. She proceeds to scan my items as I handed them to her. My co-worker who is of a different race came up to an open register and scanned her items, paid for it and proceeded to wait for me. She was not greeted nor stopped as she scanned her items. No one read her the new policy or pointed at the sign. Then another customer went up to the same open register and my cashier greeted her and said did you find everything and the lady said yes she did and she scanned her own items and left. At that moment I was so embarrassed and humiliated. I felt like she thought I was going to steal something with my large order. As she finished scanning she asked if I was getting the other items I placed on the pop machine. I explained those were my personal items and yes. She waited for me to pay and then proceeded to scan my other items. As we sat in the car, my co-worker asked what was wrong and I explained what just happened and she apologized for the different treatment. This was my favorite store and my go to all year long to purchase items for my students purchasing over $150 worth of items. I raved to other School Social Workers about this store. I felt so uneasy that I went back in so I could talk to a manager. I went to her and asked to speak to a manger and she proceeded to state that she is a manager but so is that guy and she pointed to her co-worker. I explained that they really need to be consistent with their new policy because what just happened could be misinterpreted. He apologized which felt like a brush off and then he said I hope you come back and quickly continued working on what he was doing. I felt like it was a brush off. I'm not that person who says anything but my feelings were so hurt standing there being treated differently. As a school social worker, I thought, what If this was one of my students or parents. So that is why I'm saying something, so it can be addressed and corrected. This is my go to store and I want to come back and not have the same experience or...
Read moreI was excited to see another Five Below and decided to stop and check it out with my son because he loves to get some of his snacks here. Parking lot is pretty large and easy to get in and out of. Upon entering I was pleased to see it so clean and great size. They even had some items I hadnât seen at other locations. We were greeted when we entered which is also great. While in the store the entire time two employees basically spent the entire time yelling across the store to each other about closing times, there shift as well as anything else they wanted to chat about. They never bothered to ask myself or any other customer if we may need help or anything. Honestly it felt like they were more annoyed there were people in the store. We were able to find a few items and when we went to check out there was a small line. With numerous registers youâd think it wouldnât take long, but they had only one on and working. The girl working the front helped others and then it was our turn. I apppreciate she helped scan the few items, but when she asked how we were paying she turned away quick enough so I could do my transactions then proceeded to ask me how Iâd like my receipt then answered the survey question for me giving them the highest and best rating possible. That left a huge negative for me. How often has that happened and does they mean they are fixing their own numbers on service? Hmmm Between the over zealous yelling to each other and that they need a few skills on...
Read moreWORST Five Below location I have gone to. I have shopped at a lot of different locations and this one by far has the rudest workers. First, I walked in after work in my hospital scrubs looking for an item and felt as though the employees were watching my every move. Second, I ended up buying two items and there was only ONE register for the whole store and a worker standing right next to me checking every item out herself. Shouldnât even be called a self-check out at that point. She clearly saw that I didnât have anything else in my hands after my purchase. Third, as I was leaving, another employee literally ran outside and demanded me to put my arms up as if she was a cop. I literally did not even steal anything and turned around and showed her it was my PHONE. Absolutely unbelievable treatment from this location making me feel like a shoplifter even though I paid for everything. I understand theft has been a big issue for many stores, but I will NEVER return to this location after the way I felt and was treated! Not acceptable and corporate shouldnât have opened another location if they canât keep up with the demands and proper training. I give it a year or so before it shuts down if this behavior from the...
