So Im redoing my review sadly. Because i had written a 5 star review not that long ago. But just recent went back this past weekend and brung family to eat here since i was saying how amazing the food was. I got my boyfriend the southern flavor burger with fries. I told the girl behind the counter to put absolutely nothing on the burger just the sauce. And the whole time she was on a phone call with the other girl and there is this huge fan at the entrance since its hot and summer. So ig she misunderstood me and ordered the royal south birger instead which is fine because it was hard to hear so i domt blame her. She charged me $23 which i thouhht was weird because it was suppose to be $15 something for the burger with fries but i figured because of taxes. And it took about 20min to get the food. We got it and the burger had so much stuff in it. So i went back to the counter and i told her i asked for nothing on the buger just sauce and she replied because " no you ordered the south burger and that comes with everything on it" and i look at her like wtheck and i tell her but i asked for nothing on it. My bf cant eat this he is lactose intolerant and has dietary restrictions. So she asks who im assuming is the cook if it can be remade. He looks at me and says no and because i said nothing on the burger instead of the fact there was a dietary restriction its on me because i shouldve been more specific. Even tho i said Nothing on the burger. Not only that but the girl was on a phone call the entire time taking my order. And after paying $23 on a ruined order we did not eat, they also gave us no fries at all. $23 for nothing. I hope the girl at the register gets fired and learns how to be responsible for a real job. Never coming coming back or bringing anyone here again. What a waste of money. The first time going was such a joy. But this experience ruined everything. Read moreSouth Flavors is definitely a "Vibe". The food, service, and atmosphere is top notch. I have never been to South Flavors and not have a excellent time. The great music and the family atmosphere keeps me coming back. The $15 byob fee is pretty cheap compared to other places in the area that charge $20 or more. One experience I just had recently was very upsetting and I must say the owner and the staff handled the situation very well. A group of 6 came in while I was dining in. The group of 6 came into South Flavors very rudely and loudly into an environment that was full of life and positive energy. One of the young ladies(I saw your review and was hoping that you didn't make a negative post, tried to comment but was unable) The young lady became very rude and disrespectful to the owner yelling and screaming in a restaurant that is build as a family establishment. Teaching your children how to behave in your manner is not a good look. The young lady who made the false review became upset based on her wanting extra protein which cost more money. By the way the quesadillas are soooo good. Her and her group were loud, rude and intimidating to not only me as a customer but also the staff. It was very sad to see the party of 6 act in the manner in which they displayed. The party of 6 proceeds to sit down and eat the food they order causing more intimidation to the staff. I commend the owner on the way she handled this situation with style and grace. I never saw her get rude or nasty to the party of 6. She could have told them not to dine in and eat but instead with a smile on her face allowed the party to sit in her establishment and enjoy the delicious food that is always made with love. I have been a loyal customer of this establishment, returning multiple times a month and often bringing family and friends when they visit from out of town, I even attached my initial review to this post. Unfortunately, my recent experience has made me reconsider future visits.
For my birthday celebration, my husband and I chose this restaurant for dinner with friends who had traveled to see us. We arrived and placed our order, with our friends joining us about 30 minutes later. Within 10–15 minutes, their food began arriving, while my husband and I continued to wait.
After an hour with no sign of our meals—and with our show time approaching—we decided to request a refund. At first, we were told to wait, even as the waiter continued serving other tables. When I politely asked him to process the refund before proceeding with other orders, he dismissed my request and went to the back, where he was overheard telling the kitchen staff that I was “pissing him off.”
When he returned with another staff member, I once again asked for a refund. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he looked me in the eye and told me to be patient. Given the circumstances, this response was completely unacceptable. We then had to wait an additional ten minutes while they contacted someone by phone to approve the cash refund.
While the food has always been great, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth—one that customer service should never be responsible for. Due to the poor handling of this situation, I will be taking a break from visiting...
