This is the worst mental health provider experience I've ever had. You're not supposed to go to get help and end up feeling worse than when you went in. First off, you can't see the psychiatrist right away, you need an intake appointment first. Which would have been fine except it took 4 full months to finally be able to see a psychiatrist. When I finally got to see the psychiatrist, I was treated like I was some kind of opioid addict trying to get a prescription for fentanyl, when I was seeking a prescription that I've had before for my ADD, Vyvanse, which is a harder to abuse version of adderall. I was told to get an EKG and then come back (one month later). I dutifully went to Penn and had them fax the EKG results. Got my reminder call for my appt, thought everything was good. Saw the psychiatrist, and they said they never received the EKG results, so please come back in yet another month. Plus, the prescription that I did get, for a generic antidepressant, has no refills on it, when I've had that same rx before and could get 6 months of refills without a problem. You're better off going anywhere else. My next step is to call my insurance and let them know what I had...
Read moreDo not seek care here if you are (or suspect that you are) autistic, ADHD, or having another disability.
I was a client for about 2 years and requested multiple times to be treated for ADHD and evaluated for other possible disabilities. Even though I would explicitly detail how ADHD was impacting my work and academics, my psych insisted that my ADHD was “likely just anxiety and depression”. She refused to provide me appropriate support, and even gaslit me, accusing me of chasing an ADHD diagnosis so that I could get adderall and sell it on local college campuses. Mind you, I have a full-time job and have been desperately trying to return to grad school. Why would she even think that I was trying to deal drugs with all the important life goals I am pursuing?? As a Black woman, I found her suggestion to be WILDLY racist and offensive.
My advice to fellow disabled people, do not stay with Harmony as long as I did. Harmony psychiatrists will gaslight you and waste your time if you allow it.
EDIT: My psych was...
Read moreThe therapist, though bored looking half the time, was nice and tried to be helpful. However, the doctor I would see for about 5 minutes was mean and condescending. He cared nothing about my recovery and was just there to write me a prescription, collect my co-pay and rush me off. On top of that, the office would usually double-book appointments so it was very common for me to wait up to an hour past my appointment time to actually see my doctor for a whole of 5 minutes. Additionally, the staff can be pretty reactive since they are used to having clients constantly complain about the poor service. Overall, I’ve switched mental health providers and would not recommend this...
