I’d give Juju 6 stars if I could. I just got my haircut and I LOVE IT! I had been getting unprofessional haircuts for almost the entirety of the pandemic, and I have been hesitant to go to a salon for a professional cut since I’ve very risk averse when it comes to Covid. Then I heard about Juju and their vaccination proof policy, as well as their mask mandate, and I was hooked (I don’t understand why more places don’t require both, that’s instant new business right there).
I went down in the afternoon appointment and I was just blown away. The decor and interior design in general had a soothing vibe to it. I felt at ease in regards to Covid the second I walked in. Everyone was masked and distanced. As soon as I checked in and showed my proof of vaccination, I was required to wash my hands in their bathroom before starting. A+, couldn’t have asked for better safety precautions.
Regarding my haircut, I had Anjuli as my stylist, and holy **, she went above and beyond! Not only did she expertly fix my unprofessionally cut, messy hair, but she was an absolute delight to talk to! She even wore a face shield at my request. At the end of the haircut, she also gave me a free sample of shaping putty since I told her I generally put pomade in my hair, and she recommended that I opt for argan oil over coconut oil (which I currently use in my hair.
Overall it was a fantastic experience! Thanks to Anjuli and the Juju family. You’ve got yourself a new...
Read moreI was happy that this was not a snobby salon. However, I was unhappy about everything else. I thought I'd scheduled an appointment with Ryan but when I got there, it was Jill. While everyone was very nice and accommodating, I was extremely disappointed with my hair. We discussed the way I wanted my hair colored and I brought pictures of the style I wanted. The salon was very crowded and it seems like the stylists are under a time constraint, I thought I heard my stylist being scolded by the other one because it took too long to foil my hair (unprofessional in my opinion). Even at that, the color was not at al like what we had discussed and in fact, was specifically what I told her I didn't want. Despite the fact that I brought pictures, my cut looked nothing at all like what I wanted. I think after spending too much time on color, she ran out of time for the cut. After spending $200, my hair color looks like it came out of a bottle and it's an odd, annoying color that I can't wait to get rid of and I still need a haircut. I think this salon overbooks and the customers suffer. I like the concept of using organic products but if your hair doesn't look good, then...
Read moreJuju salon is doing a fantastic job with COVID precautions. They check your temp, go through a questionnaire, and ask you to wash your hands when you arrive. There are barriers set up between chairs and air purifiers. Everyone is required to wear a mask throughout the entire appointment.
I've been going to see Julie since I was a kid in high school (I am 26 now). It's like catching up with a family member you haven't seen in months whenever I come get my haircut. She always does an amazing job with my cut and style despite me never knowing what kind of haircut I want, and I always recommend her salon to my friends.
Juju uses natural, organic, and cruelty free products which is important to me (and should be important to you, too!). As someone who is very sensitive to synthetic fragrances and irritating ingredients, I trust Julie to recommend products that work with my hair to purchase and take home from time to time.
They also let you schedule your appointment online now, which I love! As someone who is running around and working all day, it's hard to find a moment to remember to schedule appointments....
