I was excited to eat here for the first time. So we made reservations to celebrate a college graduation. We made 7:30 reservations for the rooftop. We arrived 5 mins early and told it would be a 30min wait for the rooftop. Why take reservations if you can’t keep them?! Disappointed we decided to eat inside and were seated at a four top next to the bar. We passed a few empty tables with dirty dishes from previous guests…not a good sign. It took a while for the waiter to come over. We ordered drinks and he brought a pitcher of water and glasses. We ordered the cheesy garlic sticks and the MVP with pepperoni. The garlic sticks were basically pizza crust cut in to rectangles with pesto and sauce. It was decent but another disappointment. The MVP pizza was also underwhelming. We didn’t think it had much flavor especially with the specially advertised Ezzo pepperoni. The waiter never checked on us and even took our pitcher of water away even though our glasses were almost empty. He didn’t even say anything to us when he did it. When he was bringing an order to another table he just sat part of their order on our table. That was a little awkward and unprofessional. We finally asked for our check and it took another 15 mins. He dropped our credit card when placing the receipt on the table. He didn’t even pick it up and walked away. A table of four with two children sat down after we ordered and they were already gone.
I doubt we will be back due to the poor service, ambiance, and the average tasting food. The waiter did seemed to be over worked. I blame that on poor management. We watched him take orders, bus tables, and wash dishes at the bar. We wondered when we didn’t see him if he was also cooking the pizza.
In all, a disappointing Saturday night meal. I just rate this as just another pizza place with nothing special. The space is nice but that doesn’t bring me back...
Read moreThis is one of the most confident 5-star reviews I've ever given, and I believe I have a new favorite restaurant. Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the amazing food came together to give my wife and I a perfect NYE meal.
I've got to start with the food because it blew us away with flavor. We began with the Zia Fries, which came sauced up and truly loaded. I believe we got a sneak peek of the Emmy sauce that would come on our burger later in the meal here, but I can't say for sure. When they say a pound of waffle fries, they mean it - we nearly felt full after this alone. Next came the Cheesy Garlic Sticks, which, despite being a simple dish, were also elevated and packed with flavor. Two impressive dishes later, and we weren't even out of the appetizer section.
For our mains, we split the Emily Burger and the Angel Pizza, and these were the two dishes that cemented this place as my new favorite restaurant. The Emily Burger was cooked perfectly and had such a rich, unique sauce on it that really blew me away. This was perhaps one of the most savory burgers I've ever had, and I now understand the hype for it. The Angel Pizza was similarly impressive, packed with truffle and mushroom flavor with nice bursts of creamy ricotta cutting through.
Now that I'm done raving about the food, all that's left to say is that our server was extremely friendly, prompt, and on the ball, coming to refill our water as soon as we ran out. The atmosphere was cool, with large glass walls that I assume can open in the warmer seasons. Overall, if I could give a 6 or 7 out...
Read moreTLDR; one of your bartenders on the rooftop deck dropped the N-WORD at least 2 times today... second time visiting, but won't be returning, which is a shame..
Atmosphere: Rooftop bar and seating were nice. The music kept getting turned up louder and louder which was weird but we made do and just sat closer to each other to talk. A bit windy otherwise, but nice.
The issue and reason for a 3-star on atmosphere, though, was one of the bartenders (shorter, white guy with dark brown hair and glasses) dropped the N-WORD a few times (2 or 3 times) (we could hear it clearly like 15 feet away and the couple at the bar also heard it, too) when he played "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G. today. He joked with the other staff saying he 'didn't realize it was the edited version,' but then said it again during the chorus shortly thereafter. They also played a P. Diddy song (Diddy is on trial for some heinous crimes currently, and I get the whole 'separate the artist from the work' argument, it's just these two instances together made me want to leave but we had already ordered and were waiting for our food.
Otherwise, the staff was friendly and our server was attentive. The issue was really the bartender/guy behind the bar and the N-WORD.
Food: Lemon Pepper wings were great! My boyfriend said he doesn't usually try them, but we gave them a try today. They were delicious!
We also ordered a pizza with pepperoni and hot honey, which was also delicious.
This was our second time visiting (and will honestly likely be our last due to the issue listed in the 'atmosphere', which is...
