We went during peak foliage so nearly all the tours were booked. We didn't book until the day before because there was rain in the forecast. I would recommend booking early so you get the tour and time you want. Luckily, the only tour/time that was available worked well for us. We went on the Newfound Gap tour with Dennis. We did a private tour because it only cost us $20 more than paying for 4 adults and 2 children. However, the max a Jeep can hold is 6 people, so that extra $20 was unnecessary. Our kids are 2 years old and the car seats they provided were really nice! And while the booking agent told us the toddlers would be required to wear masks, they didn't have to - which makes sense (have you ever put a mask on a toddler?) and is in line with public health guidelines. Most of the tour was on major roads and our driver was going pretty fast - at times above the speed limit. I wish we would have gone a little slower so that we could have enjoyed the views and the drive more. Dennis was sharing a lot of information about the area and the park but it was hard to understand him because of loud ambient noise. I guess the focus of this tour is to get to high vantage point and on the way we zoomed by some beautiful lookouts with awesome views of the fall colors. I wish we would have stopped at a one or two of those for some pictures, especially since the leaves had already fallen off the trees at the higher elevations where we did stop. The views at the lower elevations were actually prettier than the ones higher up where we stopped. Our driver was really nice about taking pictures, but he wasn't very good at framing the pictures. I wish I would have framed the shot for him before getting into the picture. The off roading at the end is basically an amusement park ride - a lot of fun, but it's just a man made track. Overall, I was a little underwhelmed compared to the tour we took with this company in Sedona. However, this is a really cool way to experience the Great...
Read moreAMAZING! This tour was the perfect start to our April Tennessee adventure. However, this tour can be taken at any point in time and it will not disappoint. Mike (our guide) was very personable, insightful, informative! He was an outstanding tour guide! He answered all of our questions and shared even more! A great storyteller and even that much better of a photographer. He truly captivated the moments of scenery that were majestic of the Smokies! Thanks to Mike, I was even given a briefing on my smartphone (on features I had no idea I had!!!). I have some really beautiful pictures of the rest of our trip (A BIG THANK YOU, Mike!) You are just awesome!!! The Jeep is such an exceptional way to get through the National Park to get to those really narrow sections where other modes of transportation would pile up. I could not imagine any other way to tour the unique sites that are presented in the Roaring Forks tour. Mike has such a great sense of humor too and really extended each siting as much as he could, so that we can really appreciate the grand of the Great Smoky Mountains and the areas that reside near it! Just wait for the ending... we all could not stop laughing from the amazing surprise of off roading near the end at an off site area that Pink Jeep rents! Such a great added bonus that makes you appreciate your driver and the Jeep that much more!!! Loved every moment of it and sincerely blessed to have had Mike as our guide! Will definitely be recommending and I cannot wait to come back again, let alone, excited to try Pink Jeep Tours at your other locations! Thank you, again! Such great memories to cherish...
Read morePoor. Poor. Poor. Don't waste your money. We drove around for about 45 minutes and looked at Christmas lights in the city. Also went to Dolly Partons Hotel and parked and got out and looked at the lobby. Really? That's where we were staying. I didn't sign up to get a tour of the lobby of the hotel I'm staying at! We then missed a turn to get to a trail that went into the woods for about 5 mins. I could have done it with my own vehicle. We were told by our driver that it was a newly made trail and they were planning on some special things. it consisted of going up a hill and down the same hill and looking at some poor Christmas lights they set up in some trees. I can't believe the amount they charged for this. Staff were friendly but that's about it. Our driver was nice but proceeded to tell us places where he had ate and hadn't ate with his wife. This is a poor excuse for a jeep ride. I never put reviews anywhere but had to express how poor this really is. They said the weather may have closed some trails. Well then let me know ahead of time and I'll save my money and do something else. This trail ride is a joke! After awhile the passengers just talked amongst themselves because the commentary provided by the driver was useless. Did I sign up to hear the history of partridge in a pear tree for 15 minutes? No! Sorry to be so harsh but it's the truth. I was hoping for some really good things for this ride rather than driving through town like a glorified taxi. Really poorly done. I didn't add photos because there was nothing to see which we hadn't already seen just driving...
